Best England 'keeper ever? Better than Banks? Shilton? Clemence?

Christ - some people do genuinely believe that football's history started with the advent of the Premier league. :annoyed:

To be honest, it was only a joke, Robinson is a pile of turd.

Clemence was class.

Somewhere over there...
I think that Robinson will return again as No 1 in the near future.

I think he might return to the squad in te near future.

To be honest though, despite Hart, Carson and Green being three good keepers I dont think they are experienced enough yet to be playing international level yet. But I reckon we have 3 very good potential number 1's for the future in these 3 and i'm glad we actually have a good choice of keepers to chose from now.

David James is good and had an amazing season with Portsmouth last season, but always has his errors and I reckon that he will not repeat the heroics he performed last season again this season.

Robinson just needs some good games under his belt to regain his confidence and he will be bac better than ever. Just as long as he makes no silly mistakes either.

I cannot remember Banks making a mistake. Clemence made one once and Shilton made two.........................

James

I remember Clemence making one for Spurs.

Packham-esque it was.

No you are thinking of the mistake against Scotland surely in a England shirt.........

Admitedley keepers where not scrutinised in those days like they are today (or is it televised) but they were better during the seventies and eighties.
Just think of all those keepers.... Jennings, Clemence, Shilton , Banks and then Southall.
Only Friedel and Cech compare nowadays IMHO.
But i have been drinking lots.
