Me and Snowy like Norwich because it is compact, has some nice pubs and proximity to the Norfolk Broads;Wells because it is,and Canterbury+York because they are historically interesting.

Best of all we like the City of Brighton and Hove, the City by the sea, because it is going to get a state of the art football stadium.

Birmingham is quite a cool place. So it gets my vote.

Tho it in no way beats B&H, I sort of know what you mean. Got sent up there by work one day last week and fully expected it to be shit. Maybe I got lucky, but the Brindleyplace area was well decent, all canals and GRAND places to eat and drink or just wander around.

The only good thing about Brighton is its beach and Birmingham going to get one :D Seriously though Birmingham Has the NEC, NIA, Symphony Hall ( supposed to have the best acoustics in Europe.) Loads of theatres. Has its own Ballet company and of course loads of footy teams. Not sure if they have any of those poncy boutique hotels.

It did indeed have a beach last week. It was set up in some kind of public square type thing opposite the palatial Town Hall, and came complete with sand and beach bar and a big screen showing some Dick'n'Dom type persons. Kiddies looked to be LOVING it!

of the cities in the poll it has to be Manchester, spent some of the best years of my life there as a post-grad student.

never lived in Brighton, so can't reallycompare.

Would vote for Bath if it were in there, but then again too many of the residents think its a bloody musuem that should be dedicated to Jane Austin et al, and refuse to accept any modern development!
