Yes, you are a sheep if you deny the conspiracy theories. We are controlled by Nazis. Why teh f*** should you believe these guys?

What would convince me to change my beliefs? is this what happened to you then is it? any chance your involved in scientology?
No, the sheep are the ones who believe the conspiracy theories. They're the ones without the mental and critical faculties to sort the wheat from the chaff. You would obviously disagree, so I'm going to leave it there. Hope your plans for the end of the world next year are coming along ok.

That Princess Diana was assassinated by the secret services in a plot orchestrated by Prince Philip, who decided that, despite the availability of many other tried & tested methods, the best way to kill her would be to ram an armour plated Mercedes with a Fiat Uno. And that she was pregnant at the time ( (c) Mohammed Al Fayed).

The best thing about this one is a complete lack of any coherant motive. The only thing going for it, is that by implicating Prince Philip, there is a tiny tiny bit in the back of your mind that thinks: He may have done it just because she's a bit annoying.

Thanks readingstockport. I wrote something similar but then abandoned it before posting. And yes, I'm a he.

Falmer, I am aware how the world works. I was aware that the Murdoch empire puts pressure on MPs and other people in power to do things in their interest, for example. I believe that the system of government is open to exploitation. As I initially said, I don't believe the story of Flight 93. I have *some* evidence of these things that has persuaded me to these viewpoints. You have presented no evidence for anything you've said. Yet I'm the sheep, and you are the enlightened one. Apparently.

Can you be any more thick? how can anyone present you with official evidence to back-up what I'm saying if what I'm saying is a conspiracy theory? Pretty hard one. To me it seems its you who's on the conspiracy thread ridculing me with my 'outside' information which obviously can't be proven until found guilty (a bit like O J Simpsons murder case) not me pestering you!
At the end of the day Let me say what the f*** i like, it's my right to talk and its my right to say what I like regardless if the government don't like it and if you and you dont like it, then keep reading this thread.

Ad hominem attack. The resort of someone who knows he has comprehensively lost the argument(s) and so instead resorts to the standard AH's.

So nothing will change your mind then? And you call us closed minded and stupid.

Let me tell you what would change my mind about September 11th 2001. Conclusive verifiable testable evidence that no planes were hijacked and no planes were flown into the towers or anywhere else. Not easily disprovable rubbish thrown together by people with little or no scientific education, no flying training, no explosive training and only wingnut (generally) right wing paranoid delusions on which to base their case.

What would prove to you that you are wrong?

And why on earth would I want to be involved in a religion made up by a second rate sci-fi author? I have enough to do arguing against the fantasy belief systems of traditional religions without wanting to get involved with those nutters?

If it can't be proven then by definition it is not evidence but mere speculation. If you chose to believe speculation over rational verifiable evidence because you 'KNOW THEY ARE LYING' to you then fine, carry on. Enjoy your life hiding from 'them' while I enjoy mine in the real world.

Anne de Vecchi and her evil Liberal Democrat cohorts hate all football in general and Albion in particular...this one will run and run.

Especially as she's now the Chair of the LD Lewes Party again.

Yep, I make my own mind up. Like i said I'm not a sheep. Close minded and stupid tends to be someone who is easily influenced and has the same opinion as the next common person. Not me as you can see.

I can see that. Peter Sutcliffe also did not have the same opinion as the 'next common person'. Doesn't mean that

1. He wasn't wrong.
2. He wasn't insane.

And no, closed minded is someone who is unable or unwilling to change their mind when presented with facts and evidence, something which you very VERY evidently are guilty of.

Re 9/11. There is a wide range of data that supports the idea that US authorities (government and intelligence agencies) were aware that a large scale attack was going to happen and helped facilitate it to some degree by removing security apparatus just prior to the event. This is all in public domain and is not hidden information. It is however unprovable and probably always will be unless some incontravertable evidence from an insider comes out. The problem is as with the JFK conspiracy ( LBJ and associates almost certainly the real culprits ), that as time goes by the truth becomes even harder to find.

Eh? That's not what close-minded means at all. Most common people think Lionel Messi is good at football, does that make them close-minded?

Close-minded means someone who is UNWILLING to consider changing their views in the face of alternate evidence/viewpoints, and continues their line of argument regardless.

You are the ONLY person in this thread displaying "close-mindedness", everyone else here has accepted that YES, there is government corruption, media influence etc.

The problem with this theory is that it would require HUNDREDS of people (at least!) to be "in on it". Didn't happen, did it?

Mandela had the same opinion as virtually every other person in the world outside of Southern Rhodesia and South Africa.
MLK had the same viewpoint as virtually everyone outside the right wing xian nutter south of the US, which is coincidentally the area from which most of the latest conspiracy theories about obama, zog and owg originate.

And of course the right wing nut jobs then are the same ones who tend to promote the conspiracy theories now.

And my last comment on this topic, as falmer is evidently so closed minded and angry it is pointless, is to direct people to this site

Fundies Say the Darndest Things!

which does a good job all putting all the crazy in one place so we can all point and laugh and the wingers.

You've comprehensively lost the argument if you've resorted to insulting people (as you have now me and readingstockport).

You state above that of course you don't have evidence 'because it's a conspiracy theory'. Isn't that the point? Conspiracy theories have no solid evidence - there is lots of conjecture. Otherwise it's simply called a theory. Theories tend to be much more widely accepted. I wonder why that is?

I always like to think that these arguments tend to stop when someone has reduced the argument to it's most ridiculous point, so as I'm about to bow out I figured I'd give it a go. I'd invite everyone who's interested in to check out The Flat Earth Society - Index It's a forum where a few 'enlightened' souls who believe the Earth is flat go to chat about what they 'know'. I'd hope we can all agree that they are a bunch of nutters. I'd then simply ask that you compare the two sides in their debate and work out which equivalent side of that debate you are on in this discussion.

That's quite an interesting statement. So for you to believe in some sort of conspiracy about 9/11 not being carried out by a bunch of pissed off Muslims, you would require proof that 'no planes' hit the WTC twin towers.

What proof have you got that planes did indeed hit the twin towers ?

And what the f*** has that got to do with conspiracy theories?

Dont even bother explaining.

You gave a definition of the (sort of) word "close-minded". I showed how it was wrong. Simple. I think an 8 year old could understand that.
