Pub looks grim.

Giant TV screens everywhere.

If that’s the sort of pub you seek out when you go somewhere as rich in pub culture as Enniskillen, you deserve to get stuck with the lonely old bore on Christmas Eve in front of a massive TV screen with a pint of ice cold Guinness.

There are clearly some whose sleep might get disturbed the night before Christmas ….

I may be biased. I put my head down and hope Christmas passes by without too much fuss.

Commercialised nonsense.
I tend to put the big supermarket ads in the same bucket as the brands who jump all over Pride for one weekend a year - cynical and opportunistic

But a lonely old man in a pub with a small dog? Sign me the f**k up, grab those heartstrings and yank 'em.

For those who found it all a bit sickly, it’s all relative and there are other things out there that really would make you physically sick:

Well I loved it. Didn't make me want to go to a/the pub, but I think it sends an important message about people who are on their own and how to treat them. When walking the dog, I often make an effort to say hello to people (especially elderly) I see because, in some cases, I might be the only person they have contact with during the day. You'd be surprised the lift it can give them...

I take issue with the fella drinking 0.0 Guinness in an Irish pub, though – and that's as a non-drinker myself
