Klinsmann and Sheringham complemented each other well. Solskjaer (sp?) and Sheringham always did a pretty amazing job for a reserve pairing. Sheringham and Shearer for England. So basically, anyone with Teddy.

The SAS is always a goo9d shout - Shearer and Sheringham, or Shearer and Sutton. Rush and Dalgleish, Toshack and Keegan pretty good too.
Surprised Law and Best haven't had a mention yet - so here is one!

Shearer and Sheringham was good.

Bergkamp and Henry is the best example of two GREAT forwards playing together.

Best partnership though, Yorke and Cole for sure.

Not an obvious choice by any means but Wales used to in the 60s/70s have an utterly FEARSOME strike partnership of Ron Davies and Wyn Davies. Anybody remember them? Or even heard of them?

I remember this and it was a 3 poronged attck with John Toshack. looked awesome on paper but they were all similar players as big centre forwards and the team had no balance, the supply was poor and they were all going for the same ball.

I don't think they tried it often. It's a shame when you have some really good players and try to accomodate them all but play them in the wrong positions. Think MA may concor.

Gerrard and Torres? Today's formations at PL level at top clubs are rarely two up top.
But if you look at Stats who could argue with Lloyd & Gary!

Best strike pair implies that the sum of the 2 has to be significantly greater than the individual parts, all the suggestions so far have included world class strikers who, to be fair, would be good with anyone.

With that in mind i am putting forward Niall Quinn and Kevin Phillips at Sunderland (99-00). I may be wrong but Sunderland had their best Post War league finish (7th) and KP is the only englishmen to get the Euro Golden Boot and the last to score 30 prem gols in a season.

Not bad considering neither of them were trail blazers in football!
