I've always found The Kitchen Cafe breakfasts are a bit greasy tbh

I saw a great thing in there once at lunchtime, when two 'Brighton mums' came in with a child in a buggy each and proceeded to totally naus the small space in there right up, and after about five minutes of sorting themselves out, asked for two coffees. The proprieter then pointed them to the '£2 lunchtime minimum' sign, which was met with a bit of tutting from the ladies, who then spent another five minutes to get themselves out again! Classic!

I've just had a massive tasty fresh fried breakfast at the Balcombe Tea Rooms. (Though the more observant of you will have noticed this is by no means in Brighton.)

Do they still have the teaspoon that had a hole in it and tried with a bit of string to the counter. Looks a lot posher than it did in the 60's.

I don't think you can beat The Dinner in Montefiore Road. Plus they sell REAL PIE, MASH and LIQUOR which they import from MANZE of London. just google manze.co.uk.

Elm Grove Cafe is my personal fave
Buttered slice is a real door step. Tea so milky you wonder if there's any tea in there at all.
Drool.

In Brighton, I do think the Gutbuster is synonymous with The Market Diner though.

indeed, that and a fair evening on the tiles, assisted by copious amount's of alcohol, just to set the appetite of course..

Figaro's, in George Street Brighton (first on the left as you go up St James' Street) is very good. Whatsmore, Roberto, who runs the place is the only Italian I know who actually has that stereotypical accent that everyone does when they want to take the piss out of Italians. Wassa matta you?

I used to use the Hot Potato Cafe right up at the top of St James' Street (note for pedants: actually it's probably at the bottom of Upper St James' Street) a lot. Good bloke runs that as well.

Just look at my avatar, please. This IS the best breakfast in our city. It has everything you need including fried bread and black pudding.
