All adds to the fun. How did you decide what order to put the bands in? Is it done by how many people nominated them, or by who you thought would probably go through? I'm asking because there is a marked trend in most (maybe all?) qualifying groups of the top-named bands having the most votes, and the bottom-named names having fewest.

Someone must have been telling lies about Josef K....

yes done by the amount of nominations and split as best as possible between 6 groups.

Did this too quickly and did not spot TV Personalities at the bottom so add one for them.

shit poll.

If the stone roses are a 80's act then the who, beegees and queen are 1970s.

...And the Mondays had released TWO albums in the eighties. Bummed was huge, after which a lot of people including myself revisited Squirrel and G Man. You can't say bands don't count just because they released their best stuff towards the end of the decade in question.

Thank you but I am familiar with the release dates of albums by two of my favourite bands, the point I'm failing to make is to compare them in the same poll as Soft Cell, Human League, Queen and WTF? Marillion is akin to including Cillit Bang in a poll asking 'what's your favourite lager?'

Never mind The Stone Roses, who very much deserve their place in an 80s poll, why are The Who even in the running, let alone looking like taking 6th qualifying spot (at this moment)?

You Better You Bet was their only 80s hit, and that was shit. They haven't written a decent song since 1978.

If this was a 60s poll they'd be in with a very good chance of the title. And you wouldn't rule them out of a crack at the 70s crown. But the 80s? Come on.
