I dont doubt that but my old Uncle Jack was a drummer and always said it was so easy and natural and I have always stuck with that. It probably was to him but I have never tried it and would never knock anybody who does play the drums. Perhaps that attitude explains why Ringo always seemed to be in the shadows of the other 3 Beatles.

As John Lennon jokingly(?) replied when asked if Ringo Starr was the best drummer in the world: "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles".

I have always wanted to play the drums, often find that the drumming/percussion can be a major reason why I like a track or a song and am in awe of a really gifted drummer - it's not all crash bang wallop.

this is too good to leave out. Always thought he was born in Glasgow and lived in Shoreham for a bit, but actually born in New Malden (same as my mum) and lived in Hastings. At the time of this video he was living above the pub and sleeping on a pool table
