Phil Collins and Bill Bruford, the only tour Bill joined Genesis live before Chester Thompson became their regular tour drummer

Saw Genesis supporting (!!) Lindisfarne in 72 at the Dome, hadn't a clue who they were until I looked at the ticket stub years later!

Not really following the "best bit of drumming in a song" prompt, but it seemed like a good place to pay tribute to jazz great, Roy Haynes, who died last week aged 99. Haynes was one of the last survivors of the be-bop era, and it is barely an exaggeration to say that he played with everyone. His drumming was not usually flashy or massive sounding, but he served the songs and his fellow musicians with his lovely swing and feel.

He also happened to play on my favourite jazz song, Oliver Nelson's Stolen Moments. So here is that, plus a couple of other examples. So long, Snapcrackle.

Whilst not a drummer I'm a big Metallica fan so loved this article. For me the white Justice For All kit is the most iconic one.
