I believe it was I Can See For Miles.

Even by the standards of 1967, it's not particularly heavy.

I won't post a link to it in case somebody gets WILDLY confused by it very obviously not being a Bealtes cover.

I will always prefer the original, but this song has lent itself to some great covers U2, The Banshees, and this latest one from Rob Zombie and Marilyn
Manson, which lends a certain irony to Charles Manson and his deluded inspiration of The White Album.

I never liked them either. The only song I ever liked was Yellow Submarine and that's the least Beatles sounding song they ever done.

OK, let's go a bit under the radar (in the UK anyway) here, and consider the efforts of a New Jersey Band, the Smithereens. Initially came to notice as the backing band for Susanne Vega (and some other backing band gigs too), later in the career they actually recorded two albums of Beatles covers - first was 'Meet the Smithereens', which was all the tracks fom 'Meet the Beatles, the Fab Four's second US album. They followed that up with an album of B sides (not a bad idea - there's some effin' amazing little known songs to pick from, like these:-

These were full record company backed commercial albums, and they sold quite well stateside! They followed these two albums up with a single album of selected songs from 'Tommy'. Yes, really. They sounded like a slightly more than half decent pub band playing The Who .............................

All of which is a bit of a shame, because their first couple of akbums, after the Susanne Vega backing days, were pretty brilliant - couple of examples -
