Started listening to a few bands from the Madchester Scene that I hadn't before. Loving Inspiral Carpets, James and Happy Mondays at the moment.

Along with The Charlatans and The Stone Roses - :clap2:

I saw Clint Boon from the Inspiral Carpets in my local Waitrose in South Manchester last week :albion1:

Inspiral Carpets:

This is how it feels to be Arsenal, this is how it feels to be small, this is how it feels when your team wins nothing at all ... nothing at all ... nothing at all ...

Madchester was The 'Mondays Pills Thrills and the shite that followed. Paul Oakenfold remixed Wrote for Luck and produced Hallelujah and it kicked off. Pretty much like Andy Weatherall and Primal Scream. It only really last for about 18 months and it wore off.

The Roses was the better album (some people say they released another) but Madchester was more about baggy indie dance than guitar music. Fools Gold was the Roses attempt - which wasn't half bad.
By 1991 it was all over.

Best band from Manchester? The Smiths.
Best Madchester band? The Mondays as they were Madchester. And one of my favourite lyrics are:
Son I'm 30, I only went with yer Mother cos she's dirty.
