Anyone see that Channel 4 program last night? You have to vote for the best artist for each decade. Last night was the nineties and the choices were:

Oasis
Blur
Radiohead
The Prodigy
Nirvana
Dr Dre
Missy Elliott
Robbie Williams
Spice Girls
Red Hot Chilli's.

I voted Radiohead, simply because Ok Computer and The Bends were outstanding, I saw them twice in the 90's and they were amazing and they 'broke' America.

Who would you go for. No doubt a duplicate thread (i did try and check!).

Robbie Williams TICK
Spice Girls TICK

What a shit selection!

Missy Elliot? What the f*** did she actually do in the 90's? She's only blown up in the last 3 or 4 years properly.

Robbie Williams? Who the f*** voted for these people?

I knew Chappers would be SEETHING at RW being in that list, and Biscuit just added salt to the gaping wound by placing a TICK next to his name...I was fearful of the response.

And as we all know, fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.

It's not my hate for Robbie WIlliams really but surely you would put Take That in ahead of him? They sold millions all over Europe and were the biggest group to come out of this country during the 90's. Robbie Williams released a couple of pony albums written for him and acted like a proper **** for a couple of years and all of a sudden he's GREAT?

Behave!

Oh yeah - two more things.

1) Which ***** bought Williams' new single and made it get to number 1? It's f***ing AWFUL.

2) Dr Dre - 'f*** OFF' eh Bisquit? That man was responisle for a f*** load of great music during the 90's including being responsible for 3 or 4 of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. More credentials than f***ing WILLIAMS.

I do despair.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Missy Elliott is a f***ing joke, I suppose they put her in there in some sort of token gesture of women involved in rap.

Rancid were the best band in the 90's and they also spawned so many other great bands.

My vote is Rancid

True Chappers, but I still think coz Rancid were IMO the birth of modern day punk/rock of which the Beastie Boys were true patrions Rancid take the award, if not for the best but definatly MOST influential !!
