It's Spirited Away. Iron Giant and Waltz With Bashir are good shouts too though. Has anyone mentioned Persepolis yet?

Up is superb (although I agree that it can't quite sustain the brilliance of its first 20 minutes) and Toy Story 3 is better than the first two in the series - an almost unprecedented achievement.

Have to agree with Stat Brother though, Spirited Away blows anything else out of the water

It looks like only 3 of us know their animation from their arses.

Hey unkie check this out, judging by my 'barbs' you were on a break at the time:-
Close Encounters - remind me.

Given the choice it was probably jnr's film highlight of the year.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind is absolutely f*cking amazing. My love of Spielberg started with this film as a 15 year old Boy. I saw it 7 times at the cinema.

9.5

I was watching him more than the film.
He probably only blinked twice, and he would most definitely have charged his way onto the spaceship, given half the chance.

Hook in my opinion is a good film. It has some genuine Spielberg magic but it would struggle to get in his top 15 for me that is so high he has set the bar. I am looking forward to Lincoln as that is meant to be something special.
