I'll second White Punks On Dope.
I'd also like to throw "King Tubby meets Rockers Uptown" by Augustus Pablo, into the mix. As a b side does this count?

Strict rules have been applied and here are the 32

draw sometime this afternoon .......... I may apply a confederation style filter to split the punk/ post punk/ European power block up. Or I might not bother.

some pointers to clarify:

'Up The Junction' is probably better than 'Cool For Cats'. HOWEVER, 'Cool for Cats' was seconded earlier in the process, likewise the 'London Calling' and 'Complete Control' debacle.
Led Zeppelin didn't release any 7"s
The 7" was called 'Voodoo CHILD'

Mr Blue Sky - ELO
Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty
Oliver's Army - Elvis Costello
Listen to What The Man Said - Wings
Seven Seas of Rhye - Queen
Stay With Me - The Faces
Another Girl, Another Planet - The Only Ones
Alright Now -Free
Heroes - David Bowie
Tiger Feet - Mud
Outdoor Miner - Wire
New Rose - The Damned
The Sex Pistols - Anarchy In The UK
TV Personalities - Part Time Punks (from Bill Grundy EP)
Cool For Cats - Squeeze
Boogie Wonderland - Earth Wind and Fire
Walk on the wild side - Lou Reed
Rappers Delight - Sugarhill Gang
I Feel Love - Donna Summer
Voodoo Child(slight return) - Jimi Hendrix
Complete Control - The Clash
Where Were You? - The Mekons
Babylons Burning - The Ruts
Eton Rifles - The Jam
Teenage Kicks - Th Undertones
Gangsters - The Specials
Virginia Plain - Roxy Music
Shot Biy Both Sides - Magazine
This Town Isn't Big Enough - Sparks
Morning has Broken - Val Doonican
Back Home - England World Cup Squad
White punks on dope - The Tubes

.....gutted that Ian Dury was #33

I'd love to see Magazine win this but the bookies have Bowie and Donna Summer as the favourites.

...in the UK. They had hit singles in several countries including the US in the 1970s, but they were released without the band's consent.

Morning has Broken - Val Doonican

Can anyone actually provide any evidence this was a single? You may need to launch a steward's enquiry. Being sad I have trawled the net, and my old Guinness Book of British Hit Singles, and it certainly wasn't in the UK charts. He did record it on a 1972 album, but there's nothing on t'internet that makes me think it was released on 7". Of course, the internet doesn't know everything, so maybe the proposer has a copy?

Val did have a big hit in 1971 with a song just called Morning. But that's a completely different song to the old hymn that Cat Stevens made famous.

I'm with Truflehound I don't think Val ever released MHB, age playing tricks with various NSC memories.

Can we have Rod Stewart's double A side First cut is the deepest/I don't want to talk about it as a replacement?
