It raises a good question as to what makes a fav gig. I go to loads of gigs, all different shapes and sizes, and the really special ones involve a good performance, good crowd, maybe a special venue and always a circumstance of some sort. Lots of stars need to align to elevate the show to truly special and above all the many others I have attended over the years.

Queen at Wembley
Radiohead at Treptower Park
LCD Soundsystem Ibiza.

Ask me tomorrow and it will be a different trio.

The King Blues
Groove Armada
Pulp

As part of my job I’ve been to hundred of gigs/shows from The Stones, Guns n Roses to the Who, Take That and The Vamps, but the 3 above bring back great memories

Being nosey, what’s your job?

You’re not the first on this thread to say Big Country, I find it odd and if you were to start a thread on the 3 worst bands you’d seen live I’d chose Big Country on 2 separate occasions. I’m not having a dig at them or those who voted for them, and I wasn’t adverse to their records, but 2 of the 3 times I’ve seen them live they were diabolical. At one instance their drummer threw his sticks out into the crowd after the 3rd or 4th number, and the crowd promptly threw them back.

On the Border
The Clash
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

Loads more I could have included as the line between being in or out of the top 3 is wafer thin

Purely based on The Crossing gig at The Suite in the early 80’s.

Incredible on the night, I recall other NSC’ers saying the same about it.

[Most bands/artists have stinkers, some repetitively. When not in the mood or just being an ********, too pissed or doped].

Quite a lot so very close to the top 3. Really hard to narrow it down.

Hard to believe I can’t fit in Queen, Rush, Thin Lizzy to name a second 3!
