We are very light in central midfield but Kayal has been poor in recent games. He’s given the ball away far too much (his pass completion percentage this season is under 70% which is awful for a centre midfielder). I hope Bissouma plays tomorrow with Propper.

Kayal was awesome in the first half against Leicester, easily our MotM, in what was probably our half of the season. Yes, he wasn't up to much in the second half, and that was exacerbated by the dreadful lunge that gave away the penalty.
In terms of squad depth, we are light in CM. We were lucky last season. I trust PW has this and up front as his highest priority.

I update it once the FA website has been updated. The FA site usually gets updated the first working day after a match, and due to my time difference with the UK, in practical terms that usually means I update it Monday night (UK time).

Admittedly I hadn't updated the details after the Cardiff match, as I was on holiday that following week, exploring the Pacific Coast Highway between LA and San Francisco. Posting on NSC was the last thing on my mind that week! So with the international break, yes it would have been about 3 weeks out of date.

In all seriousness - I'm happy to update the various things I do on NSC, as I believe it is helpful to other fellow Albion fans. But I'm also not inclined to waste time updating things that nobody is looking at.

Does that page get many (or any) views?

If not, I'll let it die.

I haven't looked at it, but that's merely because it's not prominent enough, as is the case with too many of your informative threads/pages. In short, I understand your frustration, and would be grateful if the mods could address this.

If Kayal were to get booked (or even sent-off) at Huddersfield, it would presumably mean that Max Sanders would get a place on the bench against Crystal Palace (as Stephens is still suspended for that match). Now that is something I would be delighted to see. I'm not HOPING for Kayal to be booked on Saturday, but given that is one of the only scenarios where an Albion youngster is likely to be included in Hughton's matchday squad, I'll happily look on the bright side.

I dont think that would happen re Sanders as I think that Bissouma would start and March would be on the bench and slot into CM if needed provided Gross plays as no 10.

So, Kayal picked up four yellows in six games, but has now managed to go three games without picking up the all-important fifth.

If he gets booked tomorrow though, he'd miss Palace, right?

That's done it. Ffs.

Phew! That's a relief - anything's got to be better than putting an U23 on the bench.............

If Kayal hasn’t been booked for 3 games, why all the hissy fits? I’m sure he knows what’s at stake and the shortage of CM’s we have for a few games.

Thank you. That's the first time I've read about yellow cards only being applicable to that competition, when awarded.

** In a change that was implemented for this season, yellow cards only count in the competition they were awarded (so a yellow card shown in an FA Cup match, for example, does not get accumulated and count towards a potential Premier League match ban).

And yet Leicester's James Madison, dismissed for two yellows against the Albion, 'served' his one match ban, by missing the Carabao Cup match against Southampton (that he would have been rested for anyway), and was free to return and score the decisive goal, in their PL game against Watford on Saturday.
