Sorry to hear of BG’s passing - a legend on this board. Thoughts with you and all of his family.

He truly was SO contrary at times that it was hard to know whether he was on a wind-up. Someone on here once said that he thought BG might be "the best spoof account of all time", and its crossed my mind many times that maybe he was. I've definitely had extra creases added to my forehead down the years from reading his posts on all subjects, from team selections, Albion performances, to general technological bafflement. But despite receiving multiple online brickbats, I never once saw him reply in anger. He never had a bad word for anyone. He may leave you exasperated at times, but he would always leave the exchange perfectly serene. Thats the mark of a man utterly comfortable in his views, fully prepared to defend them, and if you didn't agree then he was never overly bothered about changing your mind, or indulging in petty pointscoring. He was absolutely unflouncable.

I'm really, really going to miss him on here.

In my very last interaction with BG he posted that Tyson Fury "couldn't stop a bus"......Fury promptly stopped Wilder in the 7th.

I doubt he would have cared, in fact I think he just loved the interactions. A true character and proper Brighton fan. And, yes, he'll be missed.

The subject of my last interaction too. Loved reading his posts and enjoying his contribution to NSC . Having also had the pleasure of meeting him in person loved the albion.and enjoyed voicing and debating his opinions on here.

Will be sadly missed

RiP BG and condolences to the family

Awe Blessssss

I liked BG a lot and was often straight to his defence when he made what some would describe as " outlandish " transfer speculation - I quite liked them because I often didn't see them as far fetched as some others did. I liked his posts a lot.

However my greatest memory of him was when I gave him an ITK " heads up " on some facts surrounding transfer speculation on Ashley Cole during " Left Back-gate "

He asked me if he could post it on the main board. When I said yes he could. He broke a world record on getting what I told him in private message into the main board. So quick in fact that he got it totally wrong what I had told him.

I really will miss him and I am really sad to hear of his passing.

I never knew the man personally, but his posts will remain an integral part of what is 'NSC'.

He will probably be missed, in terms of post content, as much as any poster I could quote.

RIP BG.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce my brother Brian Lisher, known to all as Ben's Grandad, passed away earlier today. Due to his number of posts and often controversial views I doubt if there is anyone on NSC who didn't know him. Brian always had an opinion, very often tongue in cheek, and never failed to get a reaction. He enjoyed the banter and would always give as good as he got. Despite some comments he never took anything personally and in return he never took a real dislike to anyone on here. Ian is arranging the funeral, I'm sure he will post information when it is available for people to pay their last respects. A fitting memory to Brian would be three points on Saturday and another season in the top flight.

That would be really special he’d love that

Very sad news. The Marcus Trescothick England re-call will probably never happen now and our primary left back scout has now left us.

I also loved his player ratings based on radio commentary! Absolute legend.

NSC won’t be the same again.

He also kept banging on about a recall for Ian Bell
Mr Random which I like

Shocking. One of the reasons I finally joined up was after reading his posts and the replies several years before. there are only a handful of posters you just have to read no matter what the thread tittle is. Ironically I feel wiser for the, "why does my phone charge faster using the upstairs socket" and the like. I never really knew if this was just all one big wind up but i still had to read it all the same. RIP BG.

Condolences to the family of BG on his passing. I very rarely agreed with his views on football and often debated a point back and forward but he always seemed like a genuine chap and took everything in good heart. I always enjoyed his technology threads, he seemed to have a bit of a desire to just try something even if he was told it wasn’t going to work (that’s how a lot of us techies got started).

NSC will be poorer for his passing.

RIP BG.

A very sad day for not only the Lisher family but the Albion family in general, Brian (BG) lived and breathed the Albion and at 76 years of age had actively done so for over 70 of those.

Testing the NSC waters, so to speak, should the club put Brian’s photo up on the screen on 76 minutes on Saturday? (Apologies if fixtures)

Personally I think they should.
