The only criticism I have heard is that PC Balkham could have stood up to direct the traffic.

:)

My minibus shuttle drivers reported that everything seemed to be done well and traffic ran smoothly.
Absolutely perfect..well done to the club for listening to the BF parking mob. PC Balkham a star...but another criticism of him....He's a Man-Ure fan...oh well nobody is perfect!!

At least he was born in Manchester, well close anyway. Better than all the plastic Liverpool fans that seem to be coming out the woodwork.

Looks like the coach for us from now on - its wheels started to turn at 17.17 and we were in Hurstpierpoint 13 minutes later.

And he's also a genuine Brighton fan. I meet him away from home when it was his weekend off. A real gentleman, the Police need more like him.

For the first time stayed for a post match drink, popped into the shop and then strolled over to the station for a train to sunny Seaford, no probs at all - just a few peeps on each platform - staggering departure does work - who'd want to leave the amex anyway! very well done to the club and southern trains

Definitely this. Chinwag and a drink after the game then a pleasant (and speedy) departure.

Bennetts Field worked well. Pint and chat after the game for 30 mins, and then 10 mins from BF out onto the Falmer road.

Arrived home in beautiful downtown Saltdean just after 6pm.

Perfect.

So all that is left of the logistical issues now is the Westbound train issue from Brighton along the Worthing/Portsmouth route...... not the clubs responsibility granted, but they can maybe see that a communication is sent to the rail authorities to get the wrinkles sorted out.

P & R worked very well I thought. Queues were properly organised; crash barriers in place and buses all facing the correct way. Very noticeable how much busier Mithras House service has got but was back in Seaford by 5.50, same as it was from Withdean.

The queue to turn right up coldean lane seemed to be backing up a lot more than usual. Did that cause any probs?

I think the 1901 broccoli still needs sorting. Yesterday there was also a rather unpleasant 1901 man complaining that having to wait five minutes for the half time coffee to be replenished was "unacceptable." This will clearly need to be resolved.

We stayed behind for a while and left to go back to the car park about 5.25; left BFCP about 15-20 mins later, we were parked right down the bottom so joined the queue right at the end. Still saw a couple of people trying to cut across but in the main people we doing as they should and going one for one so people could keep moving. I didn't see any police only stewards who were using their heads this time to help it work properly.

Think it worked well today - I would like to say thank you to those who have listened to the constructive ideas from the fans. Hope it will work as well on the evening games and then we can all breathe a sigh of relief and get home at reasonable times.

Bloody Argus quoting me in today's paper without crediting me!

Just got back in Worthing.

Left on the final whistle, got in car, drove out. Queued for a small time but filtered out with the buses perfectly.

PC Balkham had some magic keys to turn the lights off and we flowed out beautifully!! Love that man.

It may just have been that we got out promptly so will be interested in how others coming out later did but from my point if view it worked the best ever!!
