Top tip: get in there early and send him a emailed shortlist tonight (minus Potter). Tell him what a great job Viera is doing at Palace. In fact join the Everton forum as a Viera fan and wax lyrical about him.

Seems to be a woman. I'm out. If I could communicate with women I wouldnt be sending emails to Paul Barber.

Been listening to a couple of Twitter spaces today with Everton fans discussing their clubs woes and open floor for fans to choose their manager. Naturally the backhanded compliments come out: "They're a well run club and no disrespect to Brighton but money talks"

Who are these mugs? Top 6 mentality but haven't won diddly since 1995.

Yeah.

After going through my late father's box of programmes I turned my attention to my own.

Trawling through 5 decades of Albion stuff is a right rollercoaster.
Kingstonian programme.
Peterborough ticket.
Birmingham Full Members Cup - WTF!!

If only I was a proper fan.

Birmingham Full Members Cup was the night of the fog??

Bbc running a poll on next Everton manager Potter leading at time of posting ..Rooney second ..get your votes for Wayne in

fortunatly for us (and poss Derby?) these decision arent made by fan polls. otherwise they'd never had Benitez in the first place.

a club of Everton's self-defined stature will be looking for a foreign manager, one who's had Champions League experience as they'll need that next year (stop sniggering).

Nothing doing-Everton not big enough for Potter, when he said top 4 only he meant it

Potter's philosophy wouldn't compliment any quick fix scenario. He is amazing at enabling players to develop their attributes and consequently the team will perform better than the sum of all the individuals. If Arsenal or Spurs wanted to commit to a long term project then Potter would be ideal, he doesn't spend much money but will need time to embed things. None of the top 4 are likely to ever offer him such an environment but given the opportunity I think he would transform a club like Man United after 4/5 years

Potter is a clever bloke. Jumping ship for Everton makes no sense whatsoever.

He knows he has everything he needs with us, to secure his reputation for a long while.
There may come a time, when he will be in a position to cash in on his reputation, for a big money contract, with a basket case club, likely to sack him within 12 months.
But that time is not now.

Until we and he reach our respective ceilings, he will be best off with us and Uncle Tony.
He knows it, we know it.
