Martin O'Neill is who Liverpool fans should be after, with the money they spend he would be excellent.

It is true to a point though, any available manager would be honoured to manager Liverpool, and anyone with any desire would love to be the man to get the great club back on tracks.

And for the record, Liverpool fans would NOT want Mourinho.

Seriously can you hear yourself? Why ISN'T O'Neill banging down the door then?

Hiddink - unrealistic
Rijkaard - maybe
Rafa - wouldn't go back
Jol - good shout actually
Dalglish - only concern is he hasn't done anything of note for 15 years, would he be out of date with how the Prem works now?

agree but dont see why Hiddink is unrealistic :S

Yeah you are right, it is so typical of managers to bang the doors down for jobs when the door is currently firmly shut and a manager is in place.

How long ago?

he wouldnt have the funds he had at Blackburn, Failed pretty badly at Celtic.

NESV would give me good funds, he won things at LFC without amazing funds, and would have the automatic respect of the club and players.

Why would he go to Liverpool? He could walk into the job at most Champions League level clubs, why would he step down?

I would think he would get automatic respect of the local players. Im not sure he would of the overseas, they prob dont even know who he is.

Thats the way of modern football.

To manage the biggest club in the country, and if he was to turn things around, it would be the biggest achievement on his CV to date.

Would any of the managers of the current top 5 in league leave and join Liverpool? I doubt it.

Liverpool could do worse than appoint Coyle.

"The biggest club in the country" ?

You are aware this is 2010, the 80's are a long time back.

In my opinion if a club are the most sucessful in the country, they are the biggest club.
