Hope he plays a stormer, single handedly keeping the Albion at bay until a late 25 yard rocket from Moder or Mac Allister wins the day!

Why ever would you want an opposing player to ‘have a stormer’ against us, and especially playing for that entitled Super League touting club and their wanker fanbase? I hope he has an absolute horror show and gets subbed before halftime with the score at 17-2 to us.

He only ever got in because of injuries to others. I'm not sure if that really counts as being dropped.

I think it was also his value as a utility player that got him in the squad. IIRC England needed cover in central defence as well as defensive midfield, and he ticked both boxes. In terms of playing for England I think it's that flexibility that gives him the best chance of being selected, however he doesn't get the chance to demonstrate that at Arsenal. He's somewhat stuck as part of a centre back pairing. If he was still with us he'd probably be covering for Bissouma in midfield. It depends though, many players dislike being utility players, and prefer to specialise. The theory being utility players tend to get left on the bench.

If he scores against us tomorrow do you think he will be respectful in the celebrations? I’m not so sure.

We’ll see what Ben is made of Saturday. I think he folds under the pressure.

What utter drivel.
Every time he has moved up a level, from Newport to England, he has done so not just easily but exceeding expectations. Yes he had a poor debut for Arsenal but they were all awful that night. He was outstanding against Spurs.
To others- he was dropped by England from the previous squad. He’ll be back in it this season and will clearly play a lot more international games than Dunk and Webster combined. And probably even Lamptey in all honesty.

I’m pretty sure people will be a little more humble in a couple of days time. He’s a huge talent.

Did you not manage to get to te end of the sentence, the bit about us winning?

I was totally on board until the bit about the Super League club scoring 2 goals against us..

Don't know about their wanker fanbase, but we certainly had a few today booing him. For God's sake, he played a decent first season for us in the Prem and earned a move to a bigger club who put £50m in our coffers. He didn't ask for a move and was respectful to Albion throughout. Why the hell were elements of the North Stand booing him.

Saw a tweet saying Ben has now deleted all his Brighton posts (when he used to play for us + his goodbye tweet) after today. Looks like the boos got to him (if true)

Not deleted the Brighton tweets. Easy to check. It's just BS

Don't understand the boo's too, lad did us proud last season and was sold for a very heafty sum which helps the club set a new benchmark.

Disappointing to hear the boos.

Not sure what he has done to warrant that.

I too was really surprised that he didn't get a better reception. Especially after the general consensus was that you can't blame him for making the move and most of us would've done the same.

The boos only seemed to be from utter twunts, certainly near me anyway, but it's a shame.

Was surprised by the boos but in all honesty I expected a completely neutral reaction to White.

Spent a large chunk of his Albion career out on loan and the season he did play for us was mostly to empty stadiums.

No hard feelings from me, but I wouldn’t be giving him a ‘great reception’ either.

Same. I wasn't expecting a rousing reception, more polite applause I guess at the beginning of the game. Won't lose sleep over it though!

I agree. Bit pathetic and disappointing on our part, thought it was a joke at first then it continued.

Performance wise, thought he was okay nothing more.
