Some words from our captain:

White’s return has been eagerly anticipated by Albion fans after he played a starring role in Leeds United’s return to the top-flight.
“You can see it in training every day, we know how good Ben is,” said Dunk. “He has shown it in the lower leagues, and he has shown it in the second-best league in the country.
“Last season when Saturday evening came around, it seemed to be the Ben White show every week!

“All credit to him for going out and working so hard and doing well. Hopefully, he can bring that form back to Brighton and help us.
“I am buzzing for him. He is a top boy, a good kid to be around and it’s great to have him in the dressing room. We want to see him kick on here.”

That’s clearly lies, BHA don’t know anything about him [emoji23][emoji23]

This is what the wackos don't get. Its actually fvcking insulting to BW that they give all the credit to Bielsa and cannot acknowledge that BW has worked damned hard to get where he is.

Exactly, they signed him a couple of weeks before the start of the season and he went straight into the starting lineup in the very first game and got MOM I believe?
Can they really believe this was down to a couple of weeks with Bielsa and nothing to do with the lad’s previous years and years of hard work?
Really quite disrespectful to Ben!

Must say, I can’t wait for Leeds to try and play 70% possession pressing football in this league :lolol: Leeds fans won’t take long to turn.

If you really think that you need to get down to the bookies. You can get 4/1 at Sky Bet and William Hill.

You may have the money lying around anyway, but if not, beg borrow or steal five grand and if you are right you will have twenty large at the end of the season, plus your returned stake. Tax free.

Do it now. You could get a great second hand car with that money. Or the holiday of a lifetime in Bora Bora.

Bet £50K and you could get yourself a really nice flat or small house with your winnings somewhere in the Med. On a delightfully sunny summer evening in the sunshine on your balcony you could raise a class of chilled champagne to Leeds United. And the team you knew was going down...

Let us know how you get on.

4-1 is an incredible bet for a newly promoted team. Not bantering here, but Leeds don't have any obvious star players in the way that Villa had with Grealish. They don't obviously have the sort of colossal war chest which will see them buy their way to safety.

I've bet on Leeds relegated at 4-1. £50k out of my league, but I've had £120 and I'm very much hoping and quietly confident that my next season ticket, plus a couple of large drinking sessions will be taken care of by that.

I'm sure you will pick up a few players, but there seems to be huge competition for players of real quality who would go to a bottom half premier league team. The Newcastle's, Palace's, Villa's and West Ham's of this world will be offering players serious money. To an outsider you look very similar to the Norwich team who came up the year before, nice footballing side, manager with a clear philosophy but questions about whether you have the quality at either end to survive in the big league.

I think similarities between Norwich and Leeds are overplayed. Norwich relied on so many late goals to grab wins whereas Leeds seemed in control of more games and would have won more comfortably in many cases if they had had a striker.

So they don’t have a prolific striker and have lost their best defender, meaning their defence will have a totally different partnership to start of a season in a much more difficult league, they also have a manager who is stalling on signing a new deal.

Sounds like a shitshow to me, the teams that normally do well after being promoted are teams that aren’t entirely possession based, they are going to totally have to change their system, the last similar football style team to Leeds I would say were Fulham and that went well.

Do you think we should start the 'Teams that can't catch us' thread now?

Yep, I watched a compilation of Ben White. Sure he is good, especially his ability to not only block the ball but take possession of it in the same move, but I couldn't help thinking you wont get away with running at the forwards and midfield like that in this league.

Exactly why I say we need to be cautious about the lad, he clearly had a fantastic season but the attackers in this league are in a different stratosphere to those in the championship. Defensively speaking the test he will get next year will be a real acid test of how good he is, will it be similar to Webster in that, he may struggle at first but grow into it? That’s my hunch.

Did Dunk, Duffy, Bruno etc all struggle at first?

Under Hughton in a defensive system isn’t exactly comparable to how we play now is it. I remember this season people caning Webster early on in the season not realising how much more exposed our defenders were at times last season compared to under CH.

And Bruno had played at the top level in Spain already.

LEEDS TO MISS OUT ON WHITE

Brighton will not sell defender Ben White to Leeds United - whatever fee the Yorkshire club offers to pay.

We told you last week on Sky Sports News that Leeds saw a third bid of £25m rejected by the south coast club.

It’s now become clear that Brighton will not do business with Leeds on any of their players because they are adamant they won’t strengthen a club who they see as a direct rival - a club who Brighton’s bosses believe may be battling for position in the same part of the Premier League table.

It’s thought Leeds are resigned to the fact they won’t prise White away from the Amex Stadium, and will now focus their search for a central defender elsewhere.

I can only imagine WACCOE - Its just a negotiating tactic..... Blooms Leaked that, now he's seen we're pursuing Koch, its mind games to up the price....... Aye, he can see we still need a CB and he's just trying to bump up his ridiculous asking price......... F**k Sake rad and Orta, just pay the man and we can stop thinking about these tinpot wa**ers........ All it takes is White to hand in the request, who cares what Bloom thinks, obvious Ben wants to be here and I still reckon we get him.......... Yeah its just another tactic, Poker player, he's bluffing........

Dunk was brought through slowly as a kid at Withdean in League 1, with a handful of appearances before starting the first game at the Amex in 2011 and playing most of that season alongside the experienced Greer. I remember him being pretty good, but Poyet and Garcia preferred the more experienced El Abd and Upson to partner Greer and he hardly played the next two seasons, going on loan briefly. It was Hyypia that brought him back into the side in 2014, and made him captain for the first time. He's been brilliant ever since.

Duffy was fantastic from his first game for us, too good for the championship.

Bruno was often used in midfield when he joined us. Only when Calderón got near retirement and he grew his beard did he become our first choice RB. Always class.
