We're not worked up by the way - we have no need to be. Loads of quality CBs already, White contracted to us for 3 years if we choose, huge fee if we sell him, owner capable of outsmarting anyone...............and we know how the loan system works. Just had some absolute PLANK going on at me on Twitter about how Ben White has already turned down two new contract offers. When I asked for evidence of this he said "a Brighton fan" showed him a link to a Sky article that said so.

Of course, the article was the usual "a SAUCE has said that 'it's possible' that...." type of thing and also included the already debunked (by Sky themselves) £30m bid / rejection.

He then got really angry when I pointed out that that wasn't true, just rumours and that the club never leaks stuff about transfers and contracts.

Apparently, I was "trying to dig myself out of a hole".

I don't know what planet these ****ers live on, or how they dress themselves in the morning.

Yeah if that is true I expect no transfer to happen and Leeds to get a fine/points docked/transfer ban.

You're extremely naive if you think any club will get a transfer ban for tapping up, it happens all the time sadly.

True, but that's because it's difficult to prove and clubs often just don't want to upset the apple cart. Sometimes someone takes the moral high ground and goes for it.

Naive? To expect rules to be followed? We all expect a player to be called offside if they are offside so I expect a club to be punished for tapping up yes. If the club have the evidence I fully expect them to act on it and take it to the authorities. It would be irresponsible not to do so!

I do believe we have very high moral standards within the club and the way it conducts itself. TB is not one to be crossed especially in anything disrespectful. I know about some of his other businesses interests. He is not shy at throwing the book at people who have wronged him.

Pritchard hadn't signed for us so could do whatever he liked as could Norwich. There is no way Leeds have negotiated with Ben on a contract wage without agreement to sign him.

I may have misunderstood your point so apologies if so......but the days of clubs only speaking to players' representatives after a fee has been agreed are long gone.

I don't think there's any chance they would or could offer £80k per week to White. That would be insane. I think there was talk of Phillips getting a new £20k a week contract last year so no chance they're going straight to £80k as a newly promoted team.
