Well here as some more 'facts' for you:

has turned down Brighton offers of a new contract and shows little interest.
his best mate is KP and his GF is a local lass
he has told the club he wants to be there next year
Leeds have bid twice for him and both have been rejected
he would play PL football next season under a world class coach

I think we all know that in modern football a club does not bid for a player unless they have been encouraged to do so by the player via his agent. In fact in most cases personal terms have also been agreed. Sure, you can talk about using it as a bargaining chip but I think we all know it isn't one of those cases.

So what is left is negotiating a good deal. The Mings deal last summer is a good pointer to a fee but with the effects of COVID in mind. I think a fee of 20million plus 2million for PL safety after year 1, a million each for 50 and 100 appearances and 5million for an England cap in a competitive fixture and a 20% sell on clause . . . would be fair. Great player without PL experience. Huge potential but equally some questions over physicality at the top level.

Regards

Here’s some simple facts for you:

1. He looks up to Lewis dunk. An england international from our youth team. Leeds can’t say they’ve produced one for 20+years. And no Lewis cook bournemouth made him into an england player after he left for a bigger club.

2. His best friend is irrelevant. Do you work for the company your best friend is at ? And anyway he is best mates with one of the biggest prospects in the prem. and no that isn’t Philips, that’s connolly.

3. His girlfriend will need about 0.01 seconds on arrival to know Brighton’s a better city than Leeds. Otherwise he will just sack her off.

4. Mings was £25m and a reserve so yeah a great pointer to the 40m plus fee. You don’t have £40m to spend.

5. You can have another one of our centre backs on loan if you want since you haven’t produced any decent prem playing players in about 20 years.

6. He hasn’t heard of Leeds or bielsa until he actually went on loan there.

Well here as some more 'facts' for you:

[The media has suggested he] has turned down Brighton offers of a new contract and shows little interest.

Indeed. Just like the media reported he turned down Brighton offers of a new contract in February 2018, which was a couple of months before....he signed a new three year deal with Albion. Seems to be a standard negotiating ploy by his agent.

his best mate is KP

How sweet. If you promise not to tell KP that after the season ended, Ben went on holiday with his "best mate" (and Albion player) Aaron Connolly, then I won't either.

and his GF is a local lass

I thought his GF was from Hull? And Ben started dating her months before he joined Leeds on loan. And since when did where your girlfriend is from determine which club you play for?

he has told the club he wants to be there next year

Leeds have bid twice for him and both have been rejected

Yep, your club has joined the big boys league now. Welcome!

he would play PL football next season under a world class coach

I'm surprised you know much about Graham Potter, but good for you.

p.s. I will add that what you never must accept at any club, is a player who doesn't want to be there. We've seen it with Cantona, Kewell, Ferdinand, Currie and McQueen. All you can do is get the best deal you can and get them out. The consequences of not doing so can be difficult and you can see with Bale and Ozil how it can surround a club with negativity unless resolved.

:lol::lol:

With all due respect to Ben White....

He's a very talented footballer and he shows a great deal of potential, but he certainly isn't (yet) Cantona or Bale or Ozil. He has never played a match at the highest level in England. He has made a league matchday squad at Brighton once in the last three seasons.

I realise he became an essential player at a lower level club last season, but the Premier League is a different kettle of fish. White certainly doesn't strike me as the type of personality who would seek to become a nuisance, but I'm not so sure an experienced Premier League squad would be disrupted by a young U-23 graduate having a bit of a sulk!!!

Hmmm, not sure all of those are 'facts'. Certainly not verifiable ones.

The one salient, undeniable fact is this:

Ben White is contracted to Brighton for a further two years(with the club having a reported option for a third year).

Subsequent to this it means:

1) Brighton will have the pleasure of having one of the most highly rated young English players in the country in their squad.

Or:

2) Brighton will receive a very considerable fee for a player who has never played in the premier league and whose absence will not weaken our team.

Everything else is just noise.

The #freebenwhite and the constant social media whinging, whining and gnashing of teeth by Leeds fans is just an amusing side show. And it is quite amusing to see on the one hand the bravado and self aggrandising and on the other the sheer desperation to sign a player from Brighton's U-23s. But in the big scheme of things it is irrelevant as the only important fact is Ben White's contract status.

Well here as some more 'facts' for you:

has turned down Brighton offers of a new contract Has he? where's the proof other than newspaper speculation.and shows little interest.Again, you are simply making that bit up, as it fits to your confirmation bias, which is formed off your own misplaced beliefs and rumours
his best mate is KP His best mate in Leeds maybe KP, he's best mates here with Arron Connelly and has just been on holiday with , yep, Aaron Connollyand his GF is a local lass Which makes jack all difference, unless of course you think he wants to move to live with the in laws, play out his career in Leeds never to be swayed by any of the top 4, just because the mother in law is around the corner?
he has told the club he wants to be there next year Another bullshit fact, based on rumours spread around Waccoe or MOT (I saw the MOT post, so and so kows so and so who knows someone who knows his girlfriend- see Joseph Goebels - If you tell a lie and keep repeating it, eventually it will become the established truth - there is not one single element of fact in this at all, its rumour and supposition
Leeds have bid twice for him and both have been rejected Well done, at last we do have a real fact - took a few layers of rumour, fatasy and bullshit but we got there in the end
he would play PL football next season under a world class coach Would that be the world class coach who failed spectacularly in his last top flight Job before being sacked within months? Who is this world class PL proven coach? do you even have any manager under contract right now?

I think we all know that in modern football a club does not bid for a player unless they have been encouraged to do so by the player via his agent. In fact in most cases personal terms have also been agreed. Sure, you can talk about using it as a bargaining chip but I think we all know it isn't one of those cases.Again, youre just making stuff up that fits your preordained mental picture - Maybe, Leeds bid because they had to, to appease the fans and to appease the Dear Leader who could walk out if not appeased, for sure you want him, that's obvious but the rest, the actual motive you make up - ever think his agent is flushing out bids from the top 4 or using Leeds to establish his value, before getting him more money with a new contract at Brighton? All roads only lead to Elland road, in your own fantasies mate

You see thats where you're wrong, all thats left is for you to bid more, if you choose and for us to reject again. Its exactly what Burnley thought a couple of years ago with one of our contracted midfielders, Dale Stephens. And they were PL and us championship and our owner, simply would not sell, despite a transfer request from player - who threw his toys, didnt go anywhere, knuckled down again then later signed new contract. The only fact is Leeds Offer - Rejected, Leeds Offer - Rejected - and it shows how little you know about our Billionaire fan chairman - If its right for Brighton (money + a team who we wont be directly competing with in lower half mini league), maybe White will move, But you dont call the shots, set the price or the terms, even if White gets MOT tattooed on his face - if Bloom says No (and he has before) he aint coming- you dont hold any cards whatsover, Brightons chairman holds them all and that is one and only FACT that counts

Regards Regards too, here's hoping you find a centre half in time, that can appease Bielsa

Good luck with that defender hunt, maybe post your transfer facts and tips to our club? and btw, I read Bielsa was absolutely adamant that none of Leeds better players are to be sold, sounds fair enough........ so why do you think another club should hand you theirs on your terms?

Eventually you will get it, in the mean time please lets have a few more facts and demands.

Leeds have really made a mess of transfer dealings in the past. Cantona for £1m to your bitter rivals - unbelievably stupid to accept that. Our boss won’t be taken for a mug like that.

This is your mistake.

You know nothing of Tony Bloom.

There will be no COVID discount for White ( or Dunk either for that matter ).

Tony simply does not sell players he wants to keep at "buyers market prices". Sure, if we were talking about a player he wanted to get off the wage bill he would, but that is not the case here.

An entire page filled up with people quoting that nonsensical Inbred northern sh*t spewer, they can’t be reasoned with. Ben White could play for Barcelona, Leeds fans will still delude themselves into thinking he wants to sign for them, probably because he likes the lady who does his laundry or the local milkman.

They will come down to Earth with a BIG bump next season, and I for one cannot wait.

You need to get back in your box and realise where Leeds sit in the hierarchy of football at the moment.

It’s a huge step up to the Premier League from the Championship, I get the impression it’s your first experience of Leeds in the top flight as some of your views seem a touch unsophisticated. You come across as a little naive so let’s set you straight on some real facts.

Firstly, check our Transfermarkt. We have a lot of centre backs. At the moment, we have eight in the squad with at least another half dozen youth players desperate to have Premier League (not Championship) careers. Top centre backs are now MADE IN BRIGHTON at our World Class academy, you’d be on your knees with envy and awe if you were ever to tour this astonishing facility, you’d be rolling around on the grass, kicking, screaming and sobbing like a toddler having a tantrum until security finally removed you; that is how jealous you would be with the realisation how far behind us you are. Open your eyes!

We lead the country in producing centre backs and have a minimum of six who are better than anything you have. If you fancy developing another one of our U23’s I’m happy to give you some recommendations that will have your mouth watering, you’ll have forgotten Ben White by the time one of our other lads has played 1/2 dozen games for you.

This is your level you see, get used to it:

Warren O’Hora
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/warren-ohora/profil/spieler/449020

Our current young player of the season will be looking for a top quality loan to help develop his Brighton career. Better than anything you have, he’d improve Leeds back line and would probably start all 38 Premier League games for you.

Haydon Roberts
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/haydon-roberts/profil/spieler/533523

Massively rated by many in the game, this 18 year old played and scored for our first team last season. Certainly a player who could turn out to be better than Ben White.

Lars Dendoncker
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lars-dendoncker/profil/spieler/369098

A great example of the type of quality our academy now attracts. Essentially, Belgium’s best U20 centre back predicted to become a huge success like his older brother.

Kipras Kazukolovas
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kipras-kazukolovas/profil/spieler/379144

This player is very highly regarded by has suffered some horrendous injuries. Perhaps a season leading the line at Leeds will give him the platform to extend his contract at Brighton?

Please contact Dan Ashworth if you are interested in any of the players above. If you are still interested in Ben White, I’d refer you to your local GP who could probably find you an institution to spend some time at whilst you rediscover your sanity.

You are not getting him.

We've seen it with Dunk and Stephens. They are still here.

Both had their heads turned, but once told it wasn’t happening both got their heads down and continued to work and train hard and give 110% in every match they played. There wasn’t a huge fallout in either case, Dunk in particular I suspect was more a contractual leverage gambit than actually wanting to go, and I think Stephens probably got a promise he’d be allowed to go if he gave 1 more season and we didn’t get promoted.

We don’t want to do a Bournemouth by selling a player to a rival.
Think if they kept Mings then Villa would have gone down instead!

Great point. Imagine us selling Ben White for £25-30m and Leeds staying at our expense.
Would not have been particularly good business.
