Who, among those of us alive and kicking in 1970, would have thought that some years later we would be loaning a developing player to lower league Leeds United? And who would have thought that what we would be discussing was the possibility the lad might be good enough for our squad next season. FFS.

Indeed, those 1st-teamers, along with those of Chelsea, were household names at that time. Is that Paul Reaney bottom left?

Seems White has a new suitor in Man utd.

Man United are closely monitoring Leeds United pair Kalvin Phillips and Ben White, Football Insider can reveal.

The Premier League giants have sent their scouts to regularly assess the duo this season and will continue to watch them over the coming months.

A United source has Football Insider that the club are eyeing the best of British young talent and that is why central midfielder Phillips, 23, and centre-back White, 22, are on their radar.

Could have a bidding war on our hands at this rate.

Or even better, we could just tell them to Feck off

Webster 24 cost 20 million

Wan-Bissaka almost 22 cost 50 million

White just turned 22 price ? Somewhere in the middle 30 million ?

"Brighton loanee Ben White will have played enough minutes for Leeds United to stop his parent club recalling him in January."
"There have been concerns from fans in recent weeks that his great form may mean Brighton look to recall him in January, especially given the recent injury to Adam Webster."
"“It’s secure in the sense that he’ll have played enough to stop Brighton activating a recall clause."

File that under "least surprising news of the weekend". Manchester United's Full Time Professional Head of Recruitment, Mark Anderson (and former Albion Head of Academy Player Recruitment) will know all about him. His twitter timeline has only slightly fewer tweets/re-tweets/likes of Ben White-related stuff than Aaron Connolly-related stuff:-
