Although ours apparently increased last season.

PS: to confirm that...Barber said in May ""Each year [i've been at the club], the football budget has significantly increased and it did so last year [2014/15]" (on Albion Roar).

Going to have to go some to keep that record going this season. I suppose we should be optimistic that we are going to sign some real quality having released so many high earners, although we are still stuck with quite a bit of over priced dross.

There is a difference between having a budget and actually spending it. Given the net profit on transfers I doubt the spend increased

Has the Iranian gone anywhere yet? I wouldn't rule him out until he signs for someone else.

Saw somewhere he was lined up to go to AZ Alkmaar which would fit in with comments made by him and his agent about wanting to stay in Holland

Blackburn have just signed Bengali-Fodé Koita who has played most of his games on the right wing for Caen & Montpellier

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33612935

Can't just be a coincidence that they've signed a player who plays in the same position as Marshall, can it?
This might sound crazy, but some teams actually employ more than 1 player for each of their attacking positions. Remember when we used to have Buckley, Noone AND Lua Lua battling for 1 or 2 positions. Madness.

This thread is just like the Adam Clayton one from last year, I do hope we get a better result this Time around. It's not gonna happen is it :(

No that's crazy talk, next you will be claiming some club might try and abuse FFP, madness I tell you.

El Pres posted a table on another thread that had us 10th for 13/14 and we are clearly a lot lower down the pecking order now. We are all grateful for the amount Bloom has put in but as more and more Championship club are purchased by rich owners we now struggle to compete.

Based on what ? It's unlikely but as no accounts are yet published we shall see. Hard to tell but why are you so sure ?
Barber is unlikely to be insisting spend is increasing "substantially" if it hasn't.
Why is it not possible that Bloom kept spending high compared to the rest of the division, as he insists , and it simply didn't result in a season like
12/13 or 13/14 and sadly the players we bought weren't as good.?

Fact he played tonight not that encouraging a deal is near .

Had hoped we could wrap this up today or tomorrow but maybe still a way off .

CH comments on March were not great timing considering how desperately we need wingers etc . Maybe reading into it .

Most were demanding a big week .

Wed tomorrow . Surely things will finally start coming good won't they ?

Marshall starts for Blackburn tonight so we a must not be anywhere near a deal.

I don't see that's necessarily the case. We are talking preseason friendlies here, nobody is going to get injured and scupper a deal. It's 80% about players getting match fit and a player needs that even if he gets sold the next day.

I have no idea if Marshall is staying, or going somewhere else or even coming to us, I just don't see him playing or not playing in a friendly has anything to do with any possible transfer, other than if he is moving on nothing has been fully agreed yet.

Did Ulloa play a pre-season game last year?
