I thought he looked direct, strong and not afraid to run with the ball at defenders in pre-season. Vs Villarreal, I think?

I'd agree, he may be raw but he is big and in the absence of anyone coming in I'd be happy to see him play with Barnes linking up with him from midfield if he gets the chance. He's big from memory so he might be better at winning the balls we hoof down the field, that Barnes struggles with.

It's pretty clear to me Barnes up top on his own is not working, so what have we got to lose??
