Standard Loans: a Standard Loan (long term loan) must be the time between two Registration Periods, and can be for half a Season or a full Season. Any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window.

However, a Standard Loan of a goalkeeper may be subject to a recall clause exercisable at any time. Any recall may only be implemented in extenuating circumstances and with the consent of the Executive, such extenuating circumstances to be determined in the Executive's absolute discretion. A goalkeeper shall not be permitted to resume any Standard Loan following the exercise of a recall.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but Lua-Lua is on a 6 month loan deal which cannot be recalled, unless it was written into the deal, which we are not aware of. He wont be recalled even if they can recall him, but if Ben Arfa is out for a year or so then he probably wont return in january.

Do you see Lua Lua going back then? I really don't think he's good enough for the premiership but maybe you don't have any other choice.

As WW said, f*** It.

Realistically, I don't think Lua Lua is good enough for the prem. He'd be good Championship level player, and it's great fun watching him play for Brighton, but I don't think he could cut it at the top. Then again, neither can Alan Smith anymore, or Shola Ameobi, or James Perch, or... etc. etc. etc. and they're getting regular games because needs must, and all that.

For Brighton's sake, I hope he stays down here.

But if it's a broken leg, he might come back at Christmas. In the mean time, I'd much rather see Haris Vuckic playing in place of Ben Arfa than Lua Lua. He's a bigger talent among the youngsters at the club.

Whilst you are here, Joe P - do you think Andy Carroll is ready for an England call?

Eh, nah, not really. I think the whole 'Carroll for England' thing got a bit swept up in this star turn stuffing Villa earlier this season. Apart from that, he was a consistent if not amazing performer in the Championship. In a couple years, maybe, but right now he's a bit raw.

Still, if Fabio does call him up, I can't see it doing too much harm.

Shoulder injury / best move for him to go to Newcastle (whilst he's lying on floor with broken ankle) / Injury not as serious as it looks :facepalm:
