It is no better here, in the pub a pint is equal to about 2.70 stirling, whilst in the bottle shop (off license), you can buy a case of 24 cans for a little over 12 quid.
If you convert the average wage here to pounds it works out to about 400.
The idea was to keep people out of the pubs, not that there are that many here, to cut down on binge drinking.
It has just resulted in domestic violence escalating because the blokes are getting pissed at home instead
