It's fuel prices, and labour costs.Soon tansporting the ale and the ingredients of ale will rise precipitously,as will the sales of home brew.

It's cheaper to move to China,or keep off the drink one day at a time.

It's cheap enough in Cyprus as long as you stay away from the tourist areas.

Trouble is when you move out here you spend the first 6 months on a mission to drink yourself to death on cheap spirits.

Funny how beer prices are indeed going through the roof in the pubs, but in the small shops they actually appear to be getting cheaper. Six cans of Becks for a fiver round these parts.

24 cans of Stella are £10.47 in Morrisons at the moment. They never have decent bitter at those prices though. Grr!!!

I was having litres of beer for a quid in the czech republic recently.

There was thirteen of us on a stag to Prague last Winter. First place we went in, down the backstreets, we had two rounds of Staropramen, and a round of shots. Total bill came to thirty quid :whisky:

Rip-off Britain. Companies charge more here, and provide lower quality, because they know they can get away with it. If folk kicked up a fuss like they do on the continent then businesses might think twice.

The Morrisons here does 4 bottles of bitter for a fiver, some of which (Summer Lightning for instance) is bottle conditioned.

As I type this I am supping some Draught Harveys "Knots of May" purchased yesterday afternoon from the Brewery Shop in Lewes at just over £1.25 a pint - I provided my own container. Shame you have to drink it up so quickly before it goes off! Why don't we start a campaign to get Harveys to open more shops?
