I came out of Lewes at 4:50pm, and sailed straight through the tunnel up to the roundabout. Then turned left and sped down the hill to Beddingham. I was pleasantly surprised.
It was 6.45pm before I drove out of Lewes this evening, and obviously there were no queues at all. However ... it seems to me that removing all the cones and lifting the speed limit back to 60mph, combined with the full effect of the Beddingham roundabout kicking in have had a noticeable effect on how easily traffic is moving.I came out of Lewes at 4:50pm, and sailed straight through the tunnel up to the roundabout. I think two lanes each way would have been better. I guess we'll find out this weekend.
Although building a dual carriageway all the way from Lewes to Polegate would have been so much better for everyone.
