Ridiculous thing to fine somebody for. If I was Becks I would refuse to play until they withdraw the fine. That'll hit the MLS in the pocket.
whats the problem? its nominal, the reprimand is the important point. and why do we care what the US authorities do anyway?
I agree, and those saying it's only £600, you can't just put another zero on the end (as an example) because it's David Beckham. I assume if it was any other MLS player, it would have been £600.
Isnt that already in place in this country for offences against the law of the land but for what Becks did the fine was imposed by the club for what they considered a breach of their rules or discipline.I may be wrong, but I think that in some Scandinavian countries some fines are set in proportion to the offenders income. So for example, a speeding fine can be set at say 1% of your annual income, so someone on a large income will pay more in terms of actual cash than someone on a low income for the same offence.

What should he have got then? Prison!
Why do so many "football supporters" on here become so offended when a player steps out of line, that they demand the harshest penalty?
