So, I turn up in the East Stand today, having ordered a nice new beanie hat from Hunts the hat shop online. I think that once you are over 40, like me, they are a useful thing to have as these winters do get a little cold at the AMEX.

The stand is a little quiet as usual, and my friend a few rows down shouts up ‘Where did you get your hat ?’ ‘Hunts', I yell out. He asks me to repeat it ‘Hunts’ I shout again.

Next thing I know these youngsters are giving me daggers. Anyway, in a rare display of emotion, it seems folk are getting behind the team in that section and after shouting it out again a little louder I decide to desist.

As me and my pal are leaving, these obnoxious snooty youngsters walk by me, you know, the liberal puritan fashion police type. I get looked up and down and told to bring my flat cap next time and wash my mouth out. I’ve just been to the hygienist, so my breath doesn’t stink, and quite why I’m not supposed to be wearing a beanie I don’t know.

Anyway, I sees them on the way from ground and one of them is haranguing his dad about it who says he’ll put in social media.

Youngsters these days, I hope they didn’t get a picture of me. Having said that, the hat wasn’t Stone Island, so I suppose a public shaming is a fair cop. I’ll put it up for sale and go back to my old cap.

I once attended a match with Ernest after he offered me a ticket on here. He is a very sweet soul in real life and I enjoyed my time with him. We both have a passion for radio podcasts and had stuff on MixCloud with a similar taste in music. He's a really nice chap. I did remember him from the bad old days in the 1990s.

Glad to hear it.

He annoyed me so I put him on ignore.

Perhaps my loss.

That said, I have to accommodate my sensibilities.
I can't function if my sensibilities are unaccommodated.

That is the sort of sentence I use at work that makes people give me a look.

I love it btw, and appreciate why and also, I have to add, love words.

I have a new head of department who has absolutely gone into bat on my behalf over colleagues who don't realize that I have sensibilities that require to be accommodated.

It's quite heartwarming.

(Mind you, I give it another month and she will have regressed to referring to me, or them, or both (face facts, it will be me), as Thrush. :lolol: )
