Well, the Hove ones aren't great because there is a public path between you and the beach and you're gonna be gawped at by dog walkers and roller bladers. Nicer in Shoreham and Lancing where you are actually on the beach. 30K is a lot of money. But I think they should be expensive, especially the ones on the beach. You're taking a part of the beach away from the public. It should cost.

Personally, I do not like the concept of beach huts. I don't like the way humans cannot just go to a nice beach and be happy to share it with others. No, they have to plant their flag in it, so to speak. They have to own a bit if it. Extraordinarily stupid behaviour when one takes a moment to think about it.

I've never really thought about it like that before, but there is something about what you say.

When the wife finally retires at the end of this year, we have plans to maybe move down to spend our latter years living in a bunglaow by the seaside.

The wife has visions of owning a beach hut at Goring Gap, suffice to say that l'm fighting it. As has been said, all that money for what is tantamount to a garden shed with a sea view, and how many days a year would the weather be clement enough to use it anyway?, plus knowing Mrs. CS, she will soon become fed up with it, and move on to something else . . .

Au contraire. I’m a 90 minute plus man. A couple of pints post match then my carriage awaits me for my dedicated monorail journey to my awaiting seat on Southern’s finest. Perfect.

Are you Benjamin Disraeli in disguise? you certainly speak like a gentleman of the Victorian era. :)

Beach huts - the big head scratcher unless you inherit one.

A friend got one last year in Hove, fortune buying it and rebuilding it, and then if she died suddenly it reverts back to council so I was told. Sounds strange if true. Guess if you are feeling unwell then make arrangements to sell it.
