Priceless. Women's semi-final, DIta Hedman takes the second set, the announcer says "Game shot and the match, Dita Hedman!". Her confused Dutch opponent clearly mouths "It's the best of five?" before grumpily shakes hands and walking off.

Was at The Lakeside tonight. That match was a procession. Hedman's opponent didn't even get a single dart at a double.

I note that the highest check out so far at the BDO is 161. There were 5 separate 170s at the PDC. I love the Lakeside for the nostalgia it brings but I am going to have to upgrade to the Ally Pally next year to find some true roof raising arrows.

Pub darts that still was an average 90 over the match.

You clearly know your stuff ATFC, one question if the BDO world championships comes off terrestrial TV how long will it survive on BT sport?

I'd be interested to see both sets of viewing figures this week for BBC and BT.

I reckon it could grow - the PDC players went over for the £££ , if a BT Sport BDO could offer more money (which we have seen with the champions league) then I wouldn't be surprised to see defections back to the BDO if the money is right.

Perhaps if it was worthwhile figures wise on BT ,they could show more BDO tournaments bringing more money to the players . That would allow more players to become full time which would only improve the standard . Averages from the quarter finals . Durrant 96.04 Waites 95.07 ,Harms 91.29 Hughes 94.11,Smith 89.76 Harbour 94.77,Mitchell 90.21 Veenstra 87.66 .Pub Darts ,thats a reasonable effort imho.

As I said earlier this week if you look down the prize money list of the PDC, at the bottom end it's clearly still a part time thing for some people, for example Kirk Shepherd who famously got to the Ally Pally final, earnt £1,500 last year.

Hopefully BT sport might make the BDO more attractive and provide decent earning potential.

On the subject of earnings was bouncing some ideas around about having an exhibition evening to benefit the Chestnut Tree House Children Hospice, spoke to someone in that field got two quotes.

Gary Anderson, depending on the night of the week, £2,500-£4,000

Phil Taylor £12,000 (I take it The Power doesn't want to do it any more)

Incidentally for a Sportsmanship Dinner we were quoted £10,000 for Sir Ian Botham which if you get your margins and fund raising stuff right is very good value.

He played a mean game of Stoolball on ITV this week so can probably turn his hand to anything.

Waites wins easily but who would win the PDC vs BDO showdown?

Anderson vs Waites best of 13 sets?

I'd say Anderson 7-4

Was there not just a 23 dart leg? Anderson could finish 3 legs in the same time it would take him to finish 1

There really is such a gulf in class between the two

180 is not the hardest number to score on a dart board,

150, treble bullseye, and yes it has been used as a check out and yes I've seen it be done twice though I've never come close to hitting it!
