The standards not as good but am beginning to find the PDC fans getting a bit like the premier league top 4 teams looking down their noses at grass roots game. Went to watch at ally pally last year, was odd as sober, and numerous times looked around, no one was watching darts, half of the people there were just smashed and singing. Then arguing. Was early in the comp, not again. Well, not again sober anyhow

Was it a sell out? Or did they position the crowd for the cameras?

I have to say Eurosport’s coverage knocks the former offerings of the Beeb and Channel 4 into a cocked hat.

Is Eurosport on freeview?

Seemed a sell out or there abouts mate. Standard was very very poor today but it is a good laugh. And yes totally Phoenix Nights - just so tinpot it’s funny

Looking forward to seeing Richard Veenstra this afternoon always enjoy his entertaining attacking brand of darts. Would love to see the dark destroyer Deta Hedman go deep in the women’s tournament too, wouldn’t be a dry eye in the house if she finally won it.

Managed to meet my hero SUZUKI yesterday. Just a world class player and knocked Ashton out with a barrage of attacking arrows.

Yeah but that's what darts is all about isn't it? You don't go to watch a boring pub sport, you go to get smashed?

Just how do you get attacking in darts? If there was a Brighton brand of darts would we just fend him off? Load of old bollocks

26 missed doubles for Scotty Waites and they are only in the opening leg of the 3rd set.

Unbelievable.

Plays at a good tempo, easy on the eye action and attacks the board. A crowd favourite judging by his reception this afternoon.

Granted not the same standard as the PDC but the crowd actually go there to not enjoy themselves and predominantly to watch the darts, not like the room full of pissheads at the Ally Pally.

Terrible level of competition and the only enjoyable part is the flash back to phoenix nights

I caught a bit of the game last night between Dean Reynolds and Dan Day. It was hilarious. It quickly settled into a battle between one player (Day) who could hit 1 treble in 3 against one doing 1 in 6, but the first player couldn't hit a double to save his life. At one point, neither could finish at all. In one leg, they both got down to double one, with Day missing six darts at double one, allowing Reynolds to checkout with his 3 darts at double one. :lolol:

It really was gash. More thud-thud-thud-26 action right now.
In the game going on right now, both players are averaging 82. Lovely stuff.

It's a blockbuster day at the Lakeside today, 'The Boss' and Scotland captain Ross Montgomery opening his quest for darting immortality and then tonight it's reigning Champion and Housewives favourite 'Duzza' Glenn Durrant and 'Big Robbo' Gary Robson in action.
