Nope, it's only broadcast locally, on both FM and DAB

:lolol: You'd be lucky to get a good dab reception of BBC Sussex in Sedlescombe, let alone Skegness!

Reception is rarely great on dab or FM in Sussex. Add in the amateurish technical problems we often get during match commentary and you truly have radio local. Sometimes it's embarrassing, like the constant telephone ringing in the background at Withdean, but it's our station and it's been bringing The Albion into our homes for years.

So I still love it, and the current crop, JC and Aspinall, are great!

DAB forget it. FM goes on line of sight, maybe on top of the Kent Downs. Seagulls player?

If you can, subscribe to Seagulls Player and find a wi-fi signal near to where you are. I did this last weekend and listened to the game whilst sitting in my hotel room in Hampshire. You also get the bonus of watching some of the U23s and the extended highlights of the main matches

Think player is great value, decent highlights too and sometimes the full 90

Since the upgrade earlier this year I have no problems with BBC Sussex on DAB when driving around the county. It used to be an issue whenever you got north of the South Downs but is fine now.

Still won't reach Skegness though. They probably still don't get Channel 5 up there either so you won't be able to see the highlights.

North of the South Downs you say. Yes, I suppose sitting on the beach is a nice place to listen to the game

Don't forget that this will also allow you to access any other clubs equivalent player with the same user name and password that you set up for SP (always useful if they decide to show full 90 min replays of their home games when playing the Albion)

There are free apps which allow you to listen to every radio station globally - I lstened to our last game of season about 3 years ago on BBC Sussex whilst in Houston

Tune in radio being probably the best Internet radio app.

Problem is match commentary is not broadcast on the internet via BBC Sussex due to some sort of rights issue. As far as I'm aware commentary is only available via FM or Dab, reception for which you can only get locally.

Not sure how you managed listening like that 3 years ago as it was the same then as well, so far as I'm aware.

I must be one of the lucky ones - my DAB reception is excellent.

Not so.Local DAB does broadcast BBC Sussex commentary. Not sure whether BBC Sussex on Freeview does.
One can listen on freeview. I wonder if, as on most TVs, one can choose the local region, whether anyone can listen for free out of the Sussex region?
