Calzaghe, unfortunately not fashionable enough though.

I can't find any reference to Team of the Year. I assume Sussex are not in the running this year, despite retaining the County Championship - not quite as prolific as a double.

My vote went to Robinson. What man  Such a shame we will not see him on the rugby field again.

I would like to see Ricky Hatton win but think the events of the early hours of today probably scupper his chances. In reality it will probably be Lewis Hamilton who wins it, but if it were just judged on personality alone and not sporting prowess then you would have to describe the list as being pretty bland.

Calzaghe for sure. Im a big formula one fan but Hamilton shouldnt win it. Sure he had a great rookie season and he will be champ one day but he finished SECOND. It would be like rewarding faliure. Calzaghe has remained unbeaten, and defended titles.

But thats exactly what we Brits do. If Hamilton had actually won, we'd not have liked him very much because winning is for ARROGANT people and bad losers. Whereas Hamilton has achieved exactly what we like - a glorious FAILURE.

Its what we do best. And he will win by a street (or a lap).

HATTON.

Never understood this competition, for sports personality, Hatton is the only option, the rest are dull. If it was sporting ACHIEVEMENT, I'd have a different answer.

I think 'personality' seems to mislead a fair few people. It only means a person of prominence within the world of (Britain) sport as opposed to the funniest/nicest.

It will be Hamilton but Calzaghe is a true champion.

As indicated by the fact that Nigel Mansell and Steve Davis have won it.
