Tonight's audience was selected from those who had applied to be on the programme before it was announced Griffin would be on it.

The audience is supposedly picked to represent the local community.:)

Black, white, pink, brown what the heck as far as i remember there all colours are they not. Its comments like that, that piss off people and think what should i say ?

Well as they're all colours that means everyone in the world is coloured; you can't differentiate certain ethnic minorities as 'coloured' in that case.

As for the video, seems a fair proportion of those appear to be students. No suprise of course, I've seen the same bloke at uni with his 'stop the war' placards and pamphlets outside everyday for the past two weeks.

I wish I had the spare time to do all this!

Also, fair portion of the students campaigning against the BNP at uni have not been white, which, in my experience, contradicts someone's earlier point. (Obviously this is not indicative of everywhere)

The UAF are as fascist as the people they claim to hate. They are known agitators, and pull their own dirty tricks. Their agenda is generally violent and antagonistic, hoping to gain media inches through provocation. 3 arrests, all UAF, 2 for violent disorder...

Nick Griffin is not the ignorant twat people are hoping. He is intelligent and can handle himself very well in an interview. I think that the BBC have to give him his place, if only in the hope that people can see through what he is saying. I think they have chosen a poor "ethnic" representative, she has her own track record of rewriting black history to suit her own agenda, and he will have researched that. The BBC learnt their lesson during the Sinn Fein days - denying the Republicans a voice only added fuel to their fire of bring persecuted. The BNP have to be given their space, if only to be given the opportunity to hang themselves.

I hope that the BBC get the UAF out of the studio, they will serve no purpose other than inflating their already large egos, and they will hand this to Griffin on a plate if they make the whole debate untenable. He has already had a pop about demonstrators being bussed in.

i think you are wrong about the BBc & sinn fein too - It was Thatcher who tried to gag them - the bbc had to go along with it

One of the reasons they want to deny him the platform is that he is able to handle himself in an interview. That is not "right wing crap" - the right wing view would surely be that if he was crap in that situation then they would be milking the fact that he was denied the chance to talk - they would have found a reason for him not to be able to access the studio. There would be more "oppression" mileage in him being kept away from the BBC by the UAF, surely? He does not "put his foot in it" - he is more than capable, in a formal interview situation, of getting his point across. He has just been booed for accusing Winston Churchill of Islamophobia - yet it's actually fairly well know that Churchill was quite an opponent of the Islamic nations. (Islam Watch - by Adrian Morgan). It's no good pretending that he doesn't research this before he says it - he knows that people will throw a kneejerk reaction, but with a simple bit of research, you can see that actually he is not lying!

Whilst Thatcher put the gag on Sinn Fein, the BBC learnt that this gave Sinn Fein the power of an underground party - and made them infinitely more dangerous. If you gag the BNP, then everything they say becomes rumour and unchallengeable.

But you should still keep your eyes looking carefully to the left...

I don't necessarily disagree with you about the protests but I think the point is that people or certainly a large percentage didn't vote for a holocaust denier and proven Nazi sympathiser (in his youth). The BNP is very cleverly manourvering it's way into the mainstream under a cloak of 'respectability' by picking up disaffected white working class ex labour voters. The point is they are lead by Nazi sympathisers, fascists, Ku Klux Klan (hope your avatar isn't in any way connected to that bunch cnunts), Stasserites and ex C18 and the policies they tend not to mention are all about hard line right wing extremism. They are doing everything they can to hide this and get these policies in through the back door. Hitler did something very similar in Weimar Germany in the 1920's It's also a bit like the Militant Tendency did with labour in the 80's if anyone remembers that.

I would argue that the BNP are moving into a political vacum created by all the mainstream parties, but Labour in particular.

The fact is that many many many tens of thousands of people are concerned with immigration and what it means for their communities. Taking up this issue is not clever of the BNP, racial matters are its raison d'etre after all.

The fact is that the mainstream parties have never wanted to confront the immigration issue head on and instead chose to offer standard platitudes to the electorate on the supposed benefits to the UK not forgetting words such as such as diversity and vibrant. The rise of the BNP is therefore a case of rank stupidity by the mainstream parties.

Proof of this is where the BNP is strongest, ex hardcore Labour strongholds like Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield and Burnley. Hypocrisy around this fact is mind boggling, when these peopl voted Labour they were stout working class folk, now they have voted BNP they are knuckle dragging neanderthals. Many would love to blame factors like the Daily Mail, but the fact is their readership is and always has low in working class areas.............so must try harder.

This week we have heard from the ONS that immigration to the UK will contribute to an increase of approx. 300k plus every year for the next 20 years. Not one political party wants to say anything about it..........good or bad. Is this a policy or not?

This week two London Councils instructed schools in their boroughs (Newham and Waltham Forest) to close for Sikh, Muslim and Hindu festivals, again not a peep from the political parties on why this is a benefit for UK society.

So, the vacum continues and until the politicians get it sorted support is likely to continue. There is no where else for people to go.

Agree with all of this - the state of the political parties in this country is now a joke. They virtually have all the same policies.

As usual in their defence of democracy the Rent a Mob left wing faction felt the need to disrupt his appearance. He is (and pretty clearly was) perfectly capable of discrediting his party and all they did was leave most people with contempt for their own views.
