Big result in Germany this afternoon which doesn't do much to help Harry Kane's quest for team trophies.

Wow.

BBC tv and radio spent this week telling me that this Saturday Kane was sending Bayern Munich to the top and to all intents the title. I assumed the first “B” stood for Bavarian.

They’ll probably still win it due a vast financial advantage, but it’s bizarre to w@nk over Bayern, PSG or Real.

Leverkusen are absolutely smashing it. Amazing achievement so far, remains to be seen if they can pull it off of course.

Wirtz & Boniface (missed out on one there) superstars in the making. Not many better defenders around than Tapsoba and Hincapie, Frimpong and Grimaldo also superb on the wings. Hradecky is also in amazing form in goal.

Great for Xabi Alonso as well. Exquisite player and has always come across as a good guy.

Good on them. We need a banner for them in the NS if they manage it.

Really enjoyed watching the game and the way BL play. Alonso completely owned Tuchel tactically and Munich had no idea how to cope with or counteract Leverkusen’s style of play. They are incredibly well coached, well drilled and play like a team, as opposed to Munich’s talented individuals.

I really hope they go on and win their league - and that we avoid them in the EL for as long as possible as, whilst it would be a fascinating game, and a great fans ‘love in’, I’m not currently confident that we would beat them.

I like to think I’m up with things Brighton but the reasons for the link are lost on me

I have no idea about the specifics for Brighton and Leverkusen BUT “friendship clubs” are a thing in Germany and often start with something quite simple like a bunch of fans meet, and get on with, another bunch somewhere. Hertha BSC and Karlsruhe are such clubs and I believe this started many years ago when some BSC fans met KSC fans on a stag do or similar.
