Before I went to work (at 2-00 am) the weather forecast was warning of heavy rain and gale force winds in this area arriving at dawn. There was supposed to be a chance of localised flooding affecting local roads during the morning rush hour. Guess what-nothing happened (yet).

I thought when the Met Office moved to Exeter they might get a bit more accurate for this area. Wishfull thinking.

Since the big storm of 1987 (who remembers the away fans at the home match soon after singing `whats it like to have no trees?`) they have gone warning mad. There are warnings of huge storms and floods quite often, and it turns out to be just a normal wet and windy day. When the next big one really does come everybody will probobly be at the point that they ignore the warnings.

By the way it is finally getting a bit windy here and has started to rain at midday.

There's a bit of wind getting up in Redhill but bring it on as I'm off to Barcelona for 4 days for a stag do.

Raining in Newhaven now; very overcast.

I wish to complain about the forecast. It was an hour late.

There is traffic chaos all over the southern half of the country.

That's why I started another thread to alert those using the A23.
More trees down near Salisbury.

Thundering here too

A tad breezy here. Despite the mild weather, I'm not confident that tonights softball game will be on.

Its stopped rain here and there is hardly a breath of wind anymore only an occassional gust.

What wind there is appear to be blowing from the east, which is unusual
