That is my over-riding impression of NSC these days - invention and guesswork, based on little or no knowledge of the facts, to support a prejudiced agenda.
So much criticism is based on what people want to be true, rather than what they know to be true.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, of course, but when an opinion has no basis in fact it has little value.

How old are you? Saunders is, for me, the best attacking player I've ever seen in an Albion shirt. £60K is the WORST bit of business this club has EVER done, Oxford bought him for £60K and sold him a year later for £1million - MORE THAN 16 TIMES WHAT THEY PAID!
Oh, and then Derby sold him to Liverpool for a then-record fee of £2.9 million, Villa then paid £2.5million etc.

Maybe not the best, but certainly not far from it. He was absolutely quality that first season we signed him from Swansea and the combination of him and Steve Penney frightened fullbacks.

That all may be true but the ultimate answer was that we had no other means of raising the £60k, as happened again when we sold Beeney to Leeds at an undervalued price but when the bank comes knocking you either do what they say or go under. This is exactly what we did, sold him to satisfy the bank and to be able to continue playing for that season.
What should we have done said no we want £750k and then be declared bankrupt or sent into administration by the bank so he would have been no use to us whatsoever.

Obviously Barry Lloyd did good things previously, but what is he supposed to be doing now. Scouting for talent, surely he must have seen someone who could be better than most of the players we have got. He has had the first half of the season to find someone, even longer if you take the time since he joined in that role. As we have not signed anyone we can only assume that trips to Ireland , Germany and other countries in Europe(Can,t remember where exactly), have been a complete waste of time and money.

He was then sold 20 or so months later for 1m quid by Oxford to Derby
Lloyd was by far and away the most unpopular manager with the fans in the 36 years I have been as fan.His pr skills were a joke....he was hated...look at the gulls eye and all the chants of barry out.....
He was in archer and stanleys pocket and since he left has run worthing and taken them down..... I for one thought the choice to bring him back was very strange

What he was sold for after he left us is immaterial as the only offer we had was from Oxford of £60k. This is the first time that I have ever heard that Arsenal offered £250k a few months earlier and would doubt it very much. However we were virtually forced, not through choice, by the bank to sell him for the £60k that Oxford offered.
There's a lot of crap on here about Lloyd's past with the Albion. If it wasn't for him the Goldstone would have been sold to developers years befoe it actually was. In his role as Chief Executive (at the same time as he was Manager) he told them where to go in no uncertain terms.
But that was in the past. Today he is surplus to requirements and a fly in the ointment. He was appointed to help Dean Wilkins find players. He has brought in one very good one and some absolute disasters. There's one Irish man who is extremely grateful to the club for giving him a six month paid holiday in Brighton. Another one shot back to Scotland at the first opportunity.
When Micky Adams first arrived at the Albion the club had a very able Chief Scout in Ken Craggs. Because Micky had his own way of securing players. Cragsy had to go. It wasn't because he was useless. Indeed he is now scouting for a Premiership club. He is with his old mate Brian Horton at Hull.

Single handed Adams went on to build a nucleus of players who contributed to two league titles on the bounce. It didn't happen instantly like a lot of people on this forum are demanding now. It happened over a period of time. The difference from then to now is he was given a free rein but now he is being severely hampered. Micky is that same man with the same capabilities. He must be given the chance to do it all over again.

How could he have been in Archer & Stanleys pocket's? Bellotti had sacked him and bought in Liam Brady long before the news of the underhand Goldstone sale was leaked by the Argus. Lloyd was sacked partly because he never towed the 'Archer line'. Plans for a move to Beeding cement works were at an advanced exploritary stage when Archer pulled the rug on the project. When it was announced at a board meeting, that was the occassion Lloyd had to be restrained from lamping Archer. For all his other shortcomings as a manager, he deserves applause for that action.......
He did run Worthing for a short while, but never took them down. The hapless (or hopeless) Danny Bloor was in charge the season Worthing went down. Around three seasons after Lloyd was stitched up by the Worthing board and left the club.
That is a very near accurate account of history. Brighton fans can feel good about Lloyd's hard worked efforts to thwart the plans of the property speculators and he desserves the highest praise for what he did. But as I have said that was HISTORY.
At this time he is in the way of the manager. He is pulling in different directions to Adams. He is acting as if he is still the manager and is answerable to no one. Micky never knows where he is. There is only one way that Micky will get the players that he wants and that is if he is left alone to get on with the job that he was brought here to do. He did before and he will do it again GIVEN THE CHANCE. Lloyd has to go!
