This poster is named after the late Barry Lloyd.

Writing in Gulls Eye many years ago under the pseudonym Barry Mustgoe, I was one of Bazza's noisiest critics. When he did go, and to celebrate his overdue departure from the Albion dugout, I successfully appealed to the owner of this board to change my handle to Barry Hazgon.

Under a new regime Bazza subsequently returned to the Albion, and I rode my luck by seeking to switch nom de plumes for a second time, to the one that remains today.

I shan't be changing again.

RIP Barry - sorry if I was a pain in the backside all those years ago

Very sad news. Big part of my formative years as a Brighton fan.

He was manager when i started going to games with mates rather than my Dad in my early teens. Also the manager that gave us the first promotion I saw live when we got promoted in 87-88.

RIP.
Similar. The promotion season was a great time, some memorable home wins. RIP

They were shit times but we did have a laugh and I made so many matchday mates that I still see now and the sense of camaraderie that continued throughout the troubles of the late 90s and into the ‘We Want Falmer’ years was heartwarming.

It’s not possible to reflect on those times without Barry Lloyd popping up front of mind as a main character.

He brought some great players to the club and in87/88 gave us something to smile about for the first time since the cup final. For the money that was spent he worked miracles .
