Quite right too, IMHO.
The conviction doesn't seem safe to me, even though he may have done it. If he didn't I can't imagine what motive anyone else would have had.
But even if he did it's not right to convict him unless there is enough evidence, and the evidence seems a bit shaky and circumstantial to me.
