I know a lot of people think Fat Baz is a prat but personally I like the bloke. Characters like him liven up the game, what do you think ?

He always takes the crowd banter very well and has said numerous nice things about Brighton and Falmer. He's ok by me.

He's a total tosser who knows nothing about football management. If he was manager of this club you'd feckin hate him. All he does is big up the fans of the opposition and narrowly avoid relegation year on year. At Birmingham he bought a squad of about 50 and didn't do anything and Peterborough are worse off than when he joined. His "success" at Barnet needs closer scrutiny - he got them promoted when Barnet had far and away the best players and most money in the Conference, and even then he need about 3 years to do it.

I like the bloke, much better than your average humourless scowling tosser in the dugout, but as Simster said, not sure if I'd want him as manager.

Damn sure I wouldn't want him as a manager ! He did a fine job of helping Birmingham to near bankruptcy but he's good value for a conversation. As Pasty says he's 'much better than your average humourless scowling tosser in the dugout'.

I rember his warning to Gary Lineker on "They Think It's All Over", where he advised Lineker re the cost of buying a football club. It went something like take wat the owe and triple it because the accounts are never what they seem.

Although not in quotes, it is about the mark. Lineker fell silent, whilst the audience gasped and laughed. a fantastic peice of television.

No, joker. Who I suspect knows more than he lets on.

Couldn't agree more, far too many dour managers in the League (McGhee, Coppell spring to mind!!), need a few who speak their minds

Pre/post match interviews with managers like Strachen & Fry are good fun

However I could have chinned Fat Barry Fry when he went running down the touchline in front of us celebrating goals during the incredible 3-3 game at St Andrews (1995?). Munday over-head!!! Marvellous scenes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We took a bunch of 7 year old kids from the local village to a game at Barnet (they provided us with free tickets) and after the game Barry Fry was in conversation with three or four press people. As we walked by he made a point of telling the press to wait while he came over and spent a few minutes chatting to the kids and signing autographs. He needn't have bothered, but he did. Top bloke.
But I agree, wouldn't want him as a manager though!

Re-morgaged his house to pay Barnet players wages, did (though my memory me be playing tricks on me) something similar to get Posh out of the merde, top bloke.
Still he really does need to be abused on saturday... and him as Albion boss

:clap2: Spot on

Plus some other myths to expose:

Fry did not buy Collymore for Southend, he was already onboard when Fry took over

The reason Fry says nice things about Falmer is Simster's point above, he tries to endear himself to opposition fans

He re-mortaged his house because the twat 'bought' a football club without any due diligence

He closed our Youth Academy - Etherington, Davies and Drury anyone? - so he could sign f***ing has-beens from Birmingham, Southend and er Barnet!

You know how you get pissed off when other fans complain about the high prices at Withdean....

I f***ing hate the bloke.:D

A great bloke, but not one that I would want as our manager. It's far more fun having him as an opposition manager.

Really looking forward to giving him some light-hearted stick on Saturday.

I've read his book, and its a bloody good read. A real eye-opener when it comes to the dodgy dealings of Flashman at Barnet, and some great anecdotes. Like the time at Barnet when he was pissed out of his head on Christmas day, and realised the pitch hadn't been cut for the home match on Boxing Day. So he went to the ground at about midnight, and was chugging up and down the pitch sitting on the lawn mower, singing Christmas carols at the top of his voice. One of the residents complained, and he was taken home by the police. Top bloke.
