Yes, i agree. I just can not understand how you would have to about 39 years old now to have even seen the last year of Thatchers reign, even then you would have only just left school. To be affected by the policies that some hate, you would have to be about 47 years old. If it was the older generation and those affected, then i could understand, but most pictured are barely out of their teens.
I do not agree with a state paid funeral, but to perhaps have to witness unrest on the day of Thatchers funeral, from some people born in the early 90's seems wrong.

That is so irrelevant to the topic. Anyone who has read/ researched about the Thatcher years would have every right to an opinion and to comment, but surely not to have such hatred unless actually affected.

It is VERY relevant in fact, it seems amazing that only those of voting age alive during her time in office are allowed to comment or protest, so what's next then ? , I suppose I can't comment on anything that happened before I was born ? I won't become a pensioner for about 25 years so until then I'd best not have an opinion on pensions until then either ? Just had a thought, I don't use the train very often, if at all so I had better not voice an opinion on that either ?

Interestingly enough, there was some young bloke on the BBC News who turned up near St. Paul's with a bunch of flowers as a tribute for Mrs Thatcher, he seemed to be under 30 so therefore his tribute was invalid too ?

Good points. You might as well bang your head against the wall though. Anyone who compares a 1983 Cup Final (which you can watch anytime and it's only 90+ mins) with a load of youngsters attending a funeral and spouting bile........clearly is clutching at straws, the comparison is laughable.

It's a sort of fair point, I will give you that. But I didn't feel affected by WW2 even though I was born 7 years after it ended. We just got on with it and did the best we could.

Things in life will always happen, some avoidable and some not, and people have to get on with things.

My point was people aren't born with hatred, racism and bigotry. They get it from somewhere, usually the parents. Not saying that is the case for all of the under 30's protesting, but is a possible reason for some.

My grandad died at Dunkirk, my mother was only young at the time. I daresay that she and many others celebrated the death of Hitler and co.

I was not accusing you of being vitriolic. I have absolutely no problem with protests as long as they are carried out with some knowledge of the cause. I just do not get why teenagers are able to hate Mrs T. Disagree with her polices yes, rejoice in her death absolutely not.

Personally I was in the print trade and suffered 2 redundancies as a result of her policies. I am not sadistic enough to contemplate celebrating her death after all she was a mother and grandmother but I certainly wasn't shedding any tears or watching the funeral or even thinking about her on her funeral day. I preferred to spare a thought for the Hillsborough 96 and their families, guilty of one of the most horrendous and criminal cover-ups by a Conservative government (and the police) in all time.
