I posted a photo. I put up the sentence "who thinks these people were not even conceived let alone born during the last Tory government, let alone the Thatcher era"
You took it upon yourself to reply with:
"So beacause they were not born they are not allowed an opinion? I will remember to keep my mouth shut about Hitler, Pol Pot, Ghengis Kahm. Ghandi, etc etc.

Although I suspect that because I no longer live in the UK I am not entitled to this opinion either? " Quote

You were not even mentioned, i never mentioned Pol Pot, or anything about what opinion you can or can not have. Read the original post with the photo...you and the rest of your reply are not mentioned in the post.

.....because that was my perception of what you were saying with your sentence and your photo.

I was wrong?

you don't want to tell the point you were really trying to make.

Fair enough, we will have to leave it there.

And no students also have jobs, do they?

Did not say that, same as you never read the article.

"Our general approach to student work starts from the position of students in society. Students are a layer of society in a transitory situation. Increasingly today they are drawn from working class backgrounds, and increasingly they are preparing for a life as part of the working class. Nonetheless, students are not workers—they lack the collective economic power of the working class. Many, though still a minority in most of the older universities, do have casual or part-time jobs alongside studying, and a minority combine university study with more stable full-time employment. But the fact that they are workers some of the time does not change their position when they are organising on the university campus.

In London village.
Miners strike finished in 1985, she was still in power for another 5 years after that.

Hunger strikers were given concessions.

Thatcher did more good than bad....simple.

She was a vile evil cancer and people like you are in a minority.

The Socialist Workers' Student Society has groups at a number of universities.
Central Committee article on the SWP and its student work, for Internal Bulletin, February 2013 | swp online

Less haste BF.......for all i know my two (one a student) one an ex student and his GF at Uni, could be members/supporters.
I said that many of the SWP do not work....then gave an example after being asked.

So again I ask, What is the point you are making about socialists and students?

I'm always amazed how many of these SWP members actually do not work. Many do not and many are easily influenced students who have not yet worked.
I thought the clue to being a member/supporter was the second word in the title..."Worker"

I've been lucky enough to attend three Universities and it's easy to over play the politicisation. It is very very much the minority. Even during the Thatcher years most didn't get involved.

Do you really think those studying Accountancy or Business Management are plotting to overthrow the state ?

Your argument is flawed though. On that basis you wouldn't expect anyone born after the end of The First World War to respect the poppy appeal. But I bet you do.....

Er, you didn't say "I'm amazed at how many SWP members aren't defined as workers by the SWP" you said you were "amazed at how many do not actually work".

So I'll ask again: how many is that?

Fair enough it was wrong of me to suggest that you were implying anything with this statement. I Will take your posts at face value in future and not assume any subtext.

So how many don't work?

Are there more members of the SWP supporters that don't work than supporters of other political parties?

Are you including students in those who don't work? It seems from your quote that many students do work.
