Showed today what we'd missed since he was dropped, so much more solid defensively and much better link up play going forward. I know there is a mixed view on him and I'll admit before he was dropped he had been relatively poor but today he proved how much better we are with him in the team

Expect this thread won't go down well with some but even adamant Barnes haters must admit how much better we were as a unit both attackingly and defensively. Needed to be said!

Totally agree. Does so much more work than is credited for. Has had two poor games all season and yet gets so much stick.

He is very funny when he's being interviewed aswell...he sounds like a male Vicky Pollard!

It's obviously all down to Barnes that Mackail-Smith actually hit the target with a class finish, Hammond wasn't left on the edge of the area for a set piece and was allowed to attack the ball, and Wayne Bridge hit a long range shot that bounced over the keeper...

you clearly missed Barnes' header for CMS's goal and his link up and defensive play but then you would wouldn't you?

Barnes is a class striker who does so much for the team and really tries his hardest when he plays for us. I love the guy and can never understand why he gets dropped to the bench other than as a scapegoat for lack of goals in recent matches. He gives us something extra but subtle when he plays for us and i think he links up well with the rest of the team. Only young and could develop into something really good for us.

It just makes me laugh how people can come up with this theory that we've only been poor since Barnes has been dropped, when in reality we have several games where he and the rest of the team has been total shite. 1 good game doesn't mean we've suddenly fixed it.

Give Barnes credit for the header to set CMS away and credit CMS for doing what he does best and leaving the defender for dead before unleashing the shot.

On the face of it, the only change in the team from Sat was Barnes in for Bruno, and we went from a totally awful performance to a 3-0 away win.

Was it all because of Barnes? I doubt it, but even the most blinkered of people must be able to appreciate that he made a difference today.

We just seemed more of a team today playing together, Watford was abject and the Orlandi saying morale was very low had me very worried, well played lads just the tonic

Well said Wizard. The midfield gap is huge without Barnes and his header to CMS to score was pace and position perfect. He just joins everything up and can't wait to see if Vicente gets back because they link up best.

Can you please, for once in your sad life, be positive about the Albion players and staff?
Maybe Barnes doesn't deserve all the credit for today's result, but do you really have to be so mean-spirited ?
Do you have such low self-esteem that you must constantly belittle the team to make yourself feel better?
Rejoice in the fact that the Albion had a good win and save your vitriol for someone or something that really deserves it.
