My old man who was listening to the game on radio said that the referee usually referees League 1 and 2. Going by that performance he shouldn't even be refereeing under 12's Sunday league.

Well I've been learning on nsc tonight that apparently if you go in two-footed on an opposition player's shins and get nowhere near the ball it doesn't matter, the other player who gets a little bit angry at being assaulted is actually in the wrong. Or so the people who can't separate a blind faith in Albion players and objectivity will tell you.

f*** off, prick!

An objective viewpoint does not exist. FACT.

Just seen it and as I thought at the time the Burnley player has gone in two footed and definitely should have gone. Barnes did leave his foot in but his tackle was not dangerous unlike the Burnley tackle. Then the same Burnley player who should have got sent off for the tackle grabbed Barnes round the neck. Absolutely diabolical decision.

That's how i saw it,but i reserve rights to change my mind after i have seen it on the box.

When I saw it I thought Barnes was in trouble, crazy challenge considering we were down to 10. Maybe the Burnley player should have gone for the retaliation but that is inconsequential. Barnes was a total idiot and I hope he is read the riot act for ultimately losing us the match! Only the bravery of the remaining 9 kept us from a hammering and almost a miracle point!

Am I right in thinking the Burnley player didn't even get a booking?

Not only that, but he didn't even get spoken too, if I remember correctly.

Are you talking about retalliation? Like what vincelot was sent off for?

I thought both were 2 footed and reckless, both should have gone, even more so when the Burnely player took Barnes by the throat.

To send Barnes off was debatable, but possibly correct, to not even book their lad was just mind boggling.

Both players went in high (out of control). Possibly red for both or often yellow, however Burnley player reaction should be a red, raised hands etc.

I have seen it on the box this morning, the main point to me is that the ref should have used some common sense given the previous decision and given both a yellow card! Barnes was sent off because of the Burnley reaction, that confirmed to the ref it was what he thought was a bad tackle. I do not think it was a red card but it was a clumsy type of challenge.

I like most did not see Vincelot actions but my mate close to it said Vincelot passed his arm across the Burnley guy, not a punch, more of a brushing, well done to the aspiring 4th official who should be congratulated on getting himself involved in the game so early, I hope he has been waiting all week to get to that moment where he can get involved rather than sitting down and realising his role in life is to hold up the subs board, nothing more and nothing less!

Heroic performance, hats off to CMS he must have been so knackered and that ball took a while to come down before he shot!

Watched it a few times this morning. Football League show thought the Burnley player was at fault. My view is the Burnley player did go in 2 footed but got to the ball first. What the Burnley player and team got right was to act like he was outraged to deflect any criticism from himself.

Vincelot incident is not on the Football League show which was disappointing

i really can't see how barnes is sent off in that incident. if someone comes in two footed, studs up at your ankles - jumping to avoid it makes sense - and once you jump up you come back down again. the fact that neither was hurt shows that it was the right thing to do and he (probably) wasn't making a deliberate attempt to hurt the burnley guy by coming down heavier. the throat grabbing reaction and the fact that AB didn't react to that should have been enough for a red to burnley. i don't think that is through albion goggles - watched it several times. if the guy hadn't slid in dangerously two footed - he wouldn't have been under barnes to get stamped on.
oh well - what's done is done. an amazing performance and atmosphere yesterday. first game i have taken my youngest too and while he didn't really understand what was going on - couldn't help but get drawn along by the atmos. if only CMS knew how much time he had created for himself at the end - would have been a truly epic day. hat's off to everyone - even gus for not getting himself in even more trouble in his interview. oh - and tano for not doubting the ref's pay sources
