A year ago this weekend I spoke to him at the Young Seagulls Christmas party. I said I was pleased he had banged in a couple of goals recently and shut up some of the moaners.

He said nothing, in return, but his smile and handshake said it all.

12 months later, look where he is while we're League 1 bound...

I wonder how many will be saying similar about JFC when he's sold? He is a good midfielder as played by three managers and England U21, but it's fashionable to slate him.
